The Pediatric Trauma Program Manager assumes responsibility for the development, implementation, and evaluation of Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital Level One Trauma Program. Responsibilities are varied among administrative duties to include: organization of services and systems necessary for a multidisciplinary approach to
providing care to the injured patient, the participation and oversight of the following: the trauma registry, performance improvement process, injury prevention, outreach and preparation for verification as a Level I trauma center with the American College of Surgeons. The Pediatric Trauma Program Manager also serves as a regional resource and a trauma program expert.
Participation in regional, state and national trauma councils/organizations such as REMAC, RTAC and STAC is expected. This position interacts and works closely with entities of the trauma system including the Trauma Medical Director, Department of Surgery, Hospital Administration, and the multi-disciplinary Trauma Team. The Trauma Program Manager must have excellent communication and organizational skills to connect multiple disciplines to achieve results as a comprehensive trauma system from pre-hospital to discharge.
NYS licensed/registered (or eligible) Registered Nurse, Bachelors degree in Nursing, a minimum of 3 years satisfactory post licensure acute experience required. CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment.
Masters degree in Nursing preferred. Trauma Certification or Pediatric Certification preferred. Experience with quality improvement preferred.
Primarily Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, some off shifts for meetings and outreach
