The Pediatric Step-Down ICU Charge Nurse will join a large, community medical center that offers comprehensive pediatric care with 343 beds specifically dedicated to children's health services. As a Pediatric Step-Down ICU Charge Nurse, you will report directly to the Nurse Manager of the Pediatric ICU, ensuring seamless communication and high standards of patient care. You will oversee a dedicated team of skilled nurses and support staff, providing guidance and mentorship to foster a collaborative and dynamic environment. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals, the Pediatric Step-Down ICU Charge Nurse will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional care to our young patients.

The Pediatric Step-Down ICU is a dynamic and supportive unit with 24 beds, dedicated to the specialized care of children transitioning from intensive care. The unit operates with a team of 40 Full-Time Equivalents (FTEs), including highly skilled nurses, excellent physicians, and exceptional technicians, fostering a family-like atmosphere. As a member of this team, the Pediatric Step-Down ICU Charge Nurse will work in a collaborative environment with some of the finest medical professionals, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our young patients.

As a Pediatric Step-Down ICU Charge Nurse, you'll have the opportunity to lead clinical education development, mentor staff, and enhance clinical competencies and skills, all while driving clinical quality improvement initiatives. On the administrative side, you'll be involved in budgeting, staffing, and operational management, ensuring efficient and effective unit performance. Additionally, you'll foster strong physician relations, creating a collaborative environment that supports excellence in patient care and professional growth.
