The Nemours Childrens Health System is searching for an ABR-certified or eligible radiologist with pediatric fellowship training to join our faculty based at the Nemours Childrens Hospital in Orlando, FL in January 2019.
Qualified candidates should have solid skills in the interpretation of all diagnostic pediatric radiology exams, excellent clinical and interpersonal skills, and the desire to collaborate with clinicians to deliver the best in imaging care.
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrable additional training, experience, and interest in nuclear medicine and neuroradiology or musculoskeletal imaging.
Academic appointment at the University of Central Florida and Florida State University will be recommended commensurate with the successful candidates qualifications and experience.

duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE, Nemours Childrens Hospital in Orlando, FL, Nemours Childrens Specialty Care in Jacksonville, FL, Nemours Childrens Clinic in Pensacola, FL, as well as staffs pediatric radiology at Wolfson Childrens Hospital in Jacksonville, FL as well as a growing list of regional hospital partners.
Nemours radiology services are integrated within a single PACS with faculty working from common work-lists.
In 2017, nearly 300,000 imaging examinations were performed in the system.
Faculty are licensed in both Delaware and Florida and credentialed throughout the system.
By creating an integrated Nemours-wide Radiology department, there is now a critical mass of 38 pediatric radiologists, making it one of the largest pediatric radiology faculty in the nation.
This critical mass has enabled marked improvement in report turn-around times, increased sub-specialization, dramatic increase in academic productivity, development of partner relationships with other hospital systems, and work on system-wide quality improvement and safety initiatives.
Additionally, beginning in 2016, the department began implementing 24/7 in-house attending coverage with night duties shared among three dedicated night radiologists.

Facility Profile: Since opening our doors in 1908, Florida Hospital has offered one of the most comprehensive children's health programs in Central Florida. Today, we continue this legacy of pediatric excellence at the Magnet® recognized Walt Disney Pavilion at Florida Hospital for Children. Our campus is home to 30 pediatric sub-specialties led by a team of 400+ nurses and physicians. We provide specialized care in various state-of-the-art settings, including an 81-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with private family-centered rooms, an Advanced Center for Pediatric Surgery handling nearly 4,000 cases each year, and one of the few pediatric oncology programs in the area. We're also Central Florida's only pediatric provider for bone marrow transplant, kidney transplant, Gamma Knife services, trilogy radiation and Level III epilepsy care. But perhaps most exciting of all, is that this is the first—and only—hospital to bear the Disney® name. Department Profile: The pediatric cardiac intensive care unit utilizes a team approach to provide the highest quality patient care. Congenital heart defects are the most common type of serious birth defect and we work to provide quality care by offering surgical intervention, cardiac catheterization, and medical management in the PCVICU. Each of us feels called to provide compassionate care during a critical time in the lives of children and families affected by CHD. The Nurse to patient ratio in the pediatric cardiac intensive care unit is 1:1 or 1:2. Work Hours/Shifts: 3/12s; 6p-6a * $10,000 Sign-on Bonus available for eligible candidates (see terms below) Job Summary: The Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) Specialist provides clinical expertise in their specialist area to optimize patient, family, nurse and team outcomes. This position assists with the direction of the ECMO daily operations and participates in direct patient care to optimize outcomes in a fiscally responsible manner. The ECMO Specialist supports the practice of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation delivery processes through direct care, presentations, collaborative practice, and knowledge of industry standards to establish clinical best practices. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required: * Sound clinical judgment, decision-making and problem-solving skills. Ability to make decisions ethically and act as a patient advocate. * Understanding of ECMO equipment, products and systems. Ability to initiate and administer complex therapeutic interventions. * Ability to be accountable and committed to quality and safety. Ability to work effectively within electronic medical records (EMRs). * Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals, bylaws, regulations and instructions. * Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) OR * Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program * Three years of clinical experience in an acute Cardiac Intensive care setting within the last five years * Minimum of three years of ECMO experience * Bilingual (English required/Spanish preferred) * Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) or related healthcare field (preferred) Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required: * Current valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Respiratory Therapist * Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal * Resuscitation (NRP) certifications Job Responsibilities: Demonstrates through behavior Florida Hospital's Core Values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship and Teamwork as outlined in the organization's Performance Excellence Program * Utilizes clinical proficiency in the care of Neonatal and Pediatric ECMO. * Participates in timely documentation of comprehensive clinical assessments including assessment of clinical variables including, but not limited to, diagnostic testing and functional status, assessment of patient's response to the extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) process. * Attends and participates in team, unit and campus meetings including hospital interdisciplinary rounds, discharge planning, and quality improvement programs with the ability to communicate with the clinical team in a professional and effective manner. * Applies assessment and evaluation process to diagnoses. Successfully delivers patient evaluations on ECMO without requiring support and instruction from others. * Utilizes unique knowledge regarding extracorporeal circulation and its effects on the body. Independently uses and documents effective planning, deliverance and evaluation of goal-focused, individualized safe age and culture-specific care for Neonatal and Pediatric patients. * Develops self and others. Invests time, energy and enthusiasm in developing self and others to help improve performance and gain knowledge in new areas related to the ECMO program through teaching, coaching and role modeling. * Exercises mastery in developing a plan of care that incorporates treatment interventions focused on meeting objective goals for ECMO patients. Develops and documents patient-focused short and long-term goals that are functional and measurable. Identifies the need for, and referral to, other services for patient and family as needed. * Functions within their license scope of practice in the critical care setting and performs any additional task as requested.
