We're looking for Pediatric RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in San Antonio, TX. The right RN should have 1-2 years' recent acute care experience. Read below for more requirements.

As a Pediatric Travel Nurse, you will provide preventative and acute care to children and adolescents in all settings. Pediatric RNs should have experience and skill caring for patients of all ages and providing support to patients' family members.

As a PED Travel Nurse, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

  • Provide age-appropriate care to patients.

  • Help patients to be comfortable with examination and procedures.

  • Perform physical, medical and diagnostic tests.

  • Assess for critical signs and symptoms in the pediatric and adolescent patient populations.

  • Assist treating physician during examination, treatment and procedures.

  • Provide information, education and support to patients' family members.

PED Travel Nurses should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty. RNs should be able to easily lift 20 pounds. Moving or lifting of patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times. Pediatric RNs may face hazards from exposure to chemicals and infectious diseases.

Additional Details * Provide skilled nursing interventions according to the Plan of Care in the treatment of the patient/clients illness, rehabilitative needs and preventative care. Apply knowledge and skills in accordance with accepted standards of clinical practice to facilitate problem resolution and achieve individualized patient goals and outcomes. * Consult with the RN Supervisor regarding needed changes in the Plan of Treatment. Accept verbal orders from physician where permitted by state law/regulations/Nurse Practice Act and communicate these orders to the RN Supervisor. * Maintain contact with patients, physicians, clinical manager(s), and other members of the healthcare team in a timely manner regarding patient/family needs and status changes. * Participate in report, care coordination activities/ case conferences and discharge planning.. * Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct by delivering care in a manner that protects and preserves the patients dignity, rights, values, beliefs, privacy and autonomy * Complete a clinical note for each visit within required timeframes, capturing physical assessment, home environment, medication changes and any skilled interventions provided during the course of the visit as well as any care coordination with health care team.
