Hennepin Healthcare has a current opening for a casual Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) with our Pediatric Mobile Health Clinic. A position at this FTE level would include one day per week on the mobile health clinic vehicle, with the possibility of additional shifts in the future.
The Mobile Health Clinic was started during the COVID pandemic to serve patients who are unable or reluctant to be seen in a traditional clinic setting. The Mobile Health staff provide basic pediatric primary care to the patient inside the mobile unit.
As the pandemic stress eased and clinic access returned to normal, a need for this care model was enhanced and the Mobile Health Clinic began serving children in Head Start Centers, schools and community organizations including transitional shelters for newcomer families.
The Mobile Health Clinic is always staffed with an EMT/DRIVER and PNP. Also available to our program is a staff of nurses, medical assistant, patient service coordinator, and community health worker.
This position will evaluate, diagnose, and treat pediatric patients with acute illness and chronic health conditions, as well as provide preventative well care for infants, children and youth from birth through age 21. PNPs work closely with primary care pediatricians to provide family-centered care, supported by pediatric specialists and ancillary support services, including multidisciplinary case management when appropriate.
