The Pediatric Audiologist provides audiology patient examination, evaluation, intervention, documentation, parent/caregiver education, communication and coordination of care with medical/clinical staff and outside agencies as appropriate within the guidelines designated by the department and the Delaware Valley policies and procedures.
Assesses existing activities and develops new activities that promote general knowledge and professionalism within the department; participates in peer review process.
Attends in-services/continuing education, provides updates in the form of in-services to associates.
Participates in program Continuous Improvement projects.
Contributes to discipline and program committees to enhance patient care; assists in assessing current procedures and assists in developing methods of improvement related to patient care.
Program Development: Stays current on technological aspects of position and develops ties with professional organizations.
Participates in activities to increase program use, awareness and marketing
Doctor of Audiology (AuD) degree is the entry-level degree to obtain a new license to practice Audiology.
AuD preferred. Individuals with a Master's Degree will be considered if existing DE license is held (must be eligible for DE Audiology License)
Member of professional specialty organizations (ASHA, AAA, etc.) preferred.
Clinical affiliation and/or work experience in pediatrics is preferred. Experience with physically and/or mentally challenged populations preferred
Must hold a primary license (DE, PA, or NJ) A second license will be required for all clinical positions (Must submit license or proof of application submission within 2 weeks of job acceptance, but this second license is not required to be active at the start of employment)
All clinical staff will maintain dual licensure (DE, PA, or NJ)
BLS certification Basic Life Support (within 6 months of date of hire) and must be maintained for
duration of employment
