Essential Job Functions: * Performs a wide variety of clerical work such as typing, proofreading, filing, checking and posting information to records. * Assists the school secretary by filling in as receptionist; acts in the secretary's place when secretary is absent; assists with minor first aid and making appointments for school personnel; assists in the registration of students; contacts parents regarding students' absences. * Answers the telephone and waits on students or the general public; giving information as required * Prepares and maintains files and records of purchasing, maintenance, inventory, personnel and related business matters; prepares transcripts of students' records; types letters, memoranda, textbook lists, bulletins or other material from oral direction, rough draft, copy, notes or email. * Operates calculators, copy machines, computers and other office machines; performs calculations. * Receives, sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail * Compiles data for reports (e.g. attendance reports, records of departmental or school expenditures for supplies, etc.).
