Job Summary: Technologist will select equipment and protocol to meet the specifications of an examination
used in the diagnosis of disease.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Greet and prepare patients to maximize clinical quality for tests ordered.
Setup and perform vascular ultrasound and segmental pressure protocols per standard
Maintain necessary documentation for regulatory compliance
Ensure all necessary equipment is in proper working order and supplies are available for studies
Evaluate scans for technical quality
Cross train within department to provide support to other diagnostic modalities including but limited to EKGs
Perform patient scheduling, registration and order entry for ultrasound and other diagnostic modalities
Gather information and scans required for ACR
Maintain accurate patient records
Order department supplies as needed
Understand and use the PACS system
Understand and send images to remote reading sites
Provide orientation for new technologists
Obtain medical histories
Charge procedures in Meditech
Education: Graduate of an Accredited School of Ultrasound Technology required.
Licenses / Certifications: RVT, ARDMS required. American Heart Association BLS required (must obtain within 6 months of hire).
Experience: One year experience preferred
