Job Description: Vaughan Regional Medical Center
Under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, perform direct patient care activities to include, but not limited to data collection, direct assistance of patient in care area, receptionist and secretarial duties.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Training in clerical or receptionist duties preferred; must complete de-escalation training within 90 days of date of hire.
Required Certification: BLS certification required (certification may be obtained within first 30 days of new hire process).
Experience: Previous patient care technician experience preferred. Training in clerical or receptionist duties preferred.
Requires ability to function in stressful situations. Accurately obtain patient data and communicate to Nursing staff.

Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods, walk at least 8 hours per day, lift/carry 50 pounds, hear alarms and telephone rings, distinguish colors, perform repetitive tasks/motions, have good eye/hand/foot coordination, and have clear vision at 20 or more feet with or without vision corrective device.
