Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Load ("programs") executed managed care contracts into the contract management system

  • Update contracts with scheduled rate changes as of effective dates

  • Build new service definitions and implements new reimbursement methodology into the system as required

  • Consult with contract negotiators to recommend precise language and meaning of contracts to ensure that the contract

template accurately calculates the terms of the contract as negotiated

  • Monitor periodic changes in recognized coding schemes (ICD, CPT, and DRG) to anticipate impacts on contract

language, calculations and reimbursement of specific contracts using those codes

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

including: ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS, DRG, APG, APC, and revenue code structures

Reasoning Ability:

The analyst must have the ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The analyst must have the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have:

  • Interest and aptitude in computer-based applications for complex business processes involving Boolean expressions,

symbolic representation and procedural logic

  • Required PC competencies including intermediate Microsoft Office skills

  • High School graduate or equivalent

  • Minimum of 1 (one) year of hospital revenue cycle experience or equivalent work experience

  • Excellent interpersonal skills required to communicate with direct staff and internal/external customers

  • Must possess excellent time management and organizational skills with great attention to detail

  • Maintain applicable continuing education requirements

  • The ability to work on multiple projects/initiatives at a time

Position Summary The Shared Service Billing Analyst role is located in Nashville, TN and under the direction of the Shared Business Services (SBS) Billing Manager. This role is responsible for performing analytical work of moderate complexity resulting from the billing processes of multiple business units. Responsibilities * Analyze and deliver ad hoc reports to assist in billing resolution · Process non standard billing transactions of moderate complexity· Contact internal and external customers to clarify or obtain additional information on moderately complex billing issues· Works with other departments, outside providers, internal and external customers to resolve issues, improve processes, and ensure understanding by all parties· Maintain delivery of service levels · Troubleshoots various inquiries with appropriate research and problem solving techniques by applying limited judgment and discretion· Participate in medium sized projects providing recommendations for continuous improvement· Use excellent verbal and written communication skills to build strong relationship with internal and external customers· Operates effectively as part of a team and in managing own work· Perform root cause analysis to reduce or eliminate billing issues· Review and resolve billing rejects of moderate complexity· Analyze and resolve escalation and medium complexity billing disputes· Backup support for standard customer support activities Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred plus 1 year relevant work experience or 5 years relevant work experience Bridgestone is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
