The patient care assistant assists patient care unit staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care, which support nursing practice under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. The patient care assistant carries out designated activities that are within those functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel.
18 years old and completion of 12 college credits OR High school Diploma/GED with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training or equivalent.

Able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
License or certification
If a candidate does not currently have their Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross the Basic Life Support, certification will be included as part of the orientation program.
Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Minimum rate is $17.47 based upon union contract.
Hours / Pay period
16-40 hours every two weeks
Variable schedule including days/evenings/nights and either 8 or 12 hour shifts.
Variety of shifts every other or every third weekend (determined at time of offer).
