What You Will Do:

I. General Summary

Under limited supervision, performs moderate to complex maintenance tasks, troubleshoots and repairs computer systems and peripheral equipment located throughout the organization. Maintains a spare parts inventory of systems, subsystems, and component parts used in repair work.

Updates progress reports for all work performed. Receives work direction from supervisor on work priorities and daily assignments. Assists other PC Maintenance Technicians as necessary.

II. Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. These are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.
1.Independently installs or relocates computer equipment, such as PCs, thin client terminals, printers, and other associated hardware at user locations ensuring access to electricity, network in accordance with departmental procedures, technical, operating and assembling manuals. Provides first level problem analysis. Masters base knowledge of assigned applications, hardware and network to support clinical and business environments. Resolves or escalates service requests when necessary. Independently performs technical downloads and PC configurations.
2.Uses Helpdesk Call Tracking application to log all service and update requests accurately and well detailed. Collects data from customers to aid problem determination/resolution of request. Provides information to the Helpdesk for on-going follow up to customers until resolution of issue.
3.Assists customers to identify and specify the nature of the request or problem, may identify more complex issues. Troubleshoots moderately complex issues and assists customers with various systems issues including Microsoft, Novell, PC/Laptop/Mobile, printer, software, hardware, and network connectivity issues.
4.Provides advanced IT Tiered support teams by obtaining and providing appropriate information for escalated issues.
5.Maintains an inventory of parts used and needed to re-order, including testing parts received for stock to ensure an effective level of service. Maintains an inventory for all equipment installed and oversees or performs documentation of all system configurations in a database as directed.
6.Coordinates activities, times, schedules, with suppliers and contractors in regard to the installation, operation, maintenance and evaluation of user locations for data equipment ensuring problems are addressed appropriately and timely with UMMS standards and procedures.
7.Collects and analyzes real-time trending information.

What You Need to Be Successful:

III. Education and Experience
1.High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. An Associate's degree or certification in Computer Science, Maintenance, Telecommunications, Certified Network Engineer or a related field is preferred. Additional certifications may be required.
2.Two years experience with desk top equipment, performing installations, configurations, trouble shooting, and evaluations.

IV. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1.Proven customer service skills.
2.Knowledge and understanding of how technology can be applied to provide system support.
3.Knowledge of PCs, terminals, and printer hardware and software configurations, Microsoft Networking, Novell Networking, cabling infrastructures.
4.Demonstrated knowledge of electronic repair, troubleshooting techniques and test equipment.
5.Demonstrated knowledge of electronic installations is required.
6.Demonstrated knowledge of PC hardware and peripherals associated with applications.
7.Demonstrated ability to read and follow instructions accurately, timely and effectively.
8.Effective communication and organization skills; demonstrates confidence and creativity.
9.Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with all levels within the organization.
10. Ability to perform daily work activities of the position assuring prompt and effective response to customer needs.
11. Proficient in analysis and problem solving, ability to assess customer needs and determining appropriate solutions.
12. Ability to understand and adhere to systems security and control procedures in accordance with departmental, vendor standards and regulatory bodies.

The Senior Service Manager (Sr. SM) manages the operations and personnel for approximately 601+ equivalent truck units comprised of one or more locations. This position may have Service Managers, Shift Supervisors, Technicians-In-Charge, Customer Service Coordinators, parts-responsible persons, and administrative assistants to support the needs of assigned location. Responsible for ensuring accuracy of third party invoices and the quality of worked outsourced to vendors * Provides oversight and exception management of Payroll, Purchase Order approval and invoice reconciliation, and fuel reconciliation * Responsible for the successful execution of the customer bill back process to include identification, review and approval of bill back opportunities; responsible for ensuring proper documentation and explanation/ reporting of re-billable activity * Responsible for the successful execution of the warranty process and maximizing warranty recovery * Ensures data integrity in the Shop Management Online system * Asset Management: * Directs management team in order to maintain the appearance and maintenance of assigned locations, including sustaining 6S standards throughout the shop * Responsible for the execution of Asset Management initiatives at the shop level * Prepares business case for capital expenditures * Prioritizes and approves shop tooling and equipment requirements based on needs and scope * Manages and oversees vehicle specifications and vehicle in-service/out-service process * Provides expert insight during business unit asset management review * Ensures all vehicles have required specifications in SAM * Provides oversight of parts inventory management, policies and procedures * Quality Management: * Performs complex quality planning by developing corrective action and counter measures to operational quality issues * Provides oversight and/or execution of quality inspection of PM and repairs, as well as in-process reviews of non-PM work * Maintains control/visibility over shop floor activities to ensure proper root cause diagnosis by technicians and that the yield on all parts/components is optimized * Responsible for all mandatory compliance items at the shop level as identified on the Quality Review inspection list * Is accountable for all quality metrics within the shop * Leads breakdown root cause analysis, implement corrective actions locally and, when necessary, communicates issues to Technical Assistance Center * Develops and ensures implementation of quality assurance audit corrective action plans and continuous improvement programs * Responsible for ensuring a safe workplace and providing guidance for all safety efforts and initiatives * Ensures cleanliness and quality of repair for all maintained vehicles * Is accountable for maintenance of all relevant documentation required to meet and/or exceed local, state, federal, as well as customer requirements * Complies with safety and EPA regulations and requirements * Performs other duties as assigned Ryder is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free workplace.
