Located in central Austin, St. David's Medical Center includes a 350-bed acute care hospital and a 64- bed rehabilitation hospital providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care.
It is home to the internationally renowned Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute and St. David's Neuroscience & Spine Institute. The hospital provides a complete range of women's services, including its acclaimed maternity unit, maternal-fetal medicine, a high-risk maternal and neonatal transport team, the region's largest and most sophisticated Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and The Breast Center; complex surgical services; a comprehensive Bariatric Surgery Center; and a 24-hour emergency department.
Responsible for handling all incoming calls to the switchboard & disseminate calls/customers to the appropriate department/person, monitors all alarm indicators, performing over head pages and responsible for the direction of customers to correct locations, page on call staff, page overhead when necessary. Also attend training sessions and employee meetings when requested.
Maintain patient confidentiality, respond to emergency CODES when necessary, and maintain a log of all standard and non standard occurrences. Report any problems with telecommunication equipment to the Supervisor. Performs other related job functions as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to demonstrate understanding of HCA's and St. David's "Patients First" safety initiative by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED/PREFERRED):
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Close working environment with coworkers requires good guest relation's skills. Job skills will be monitored through their use of listening devices quarterly for use in performance evaluations.
This position requires team leadership/building abilities. Employee must be able to coordinate several different tasks at a time.
Preferred: Some experience or similar PBX Systems or Receptionist. Bilingual a plus.
