Operates the facility phone system to relay incoming, outgoing and interoffice calls. Responsible for efficiently answering, screening and routing incoming calls.

Essential Functions:

  • Answer incoming calls in a timely and professional manner

  • Assist the public in a professional manner

  • Overhead page

  • Responsible for overhead paging the codes and the procedure(s) to follow once code is called (notifying key individuals and documenting type of code on log sheet)

  • Maintain communication with Engineering when alarm(s) triggers or equipment malfunctions

  • Maintain communications with Security to promote a more secure facility

  • Maintain on-call schedules for use; Physician & Hospital Department specific

  • Maintain beeper list and beeps physician and/or personnel accordingly

  • Demonstrates knowledge of occurrence reporting system and utilizes system to report potential patient safety issues

  • Attends department meetings, education sessions and hospital specific training programs

  • Practices and adheres to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and Mission and Value statement of the Hospital

  • Supplies appropriate information to callers regarding patients within facility and HIPAA guidelines

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Required Skills:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

VIEW JOBS 10/11/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-09T00:00 * The Technologist selects and operates all radiology equipment as directed and provides protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards. * Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation. * Checks patient's chart to confirm order and checks arm bands to confirm identity. * Moves X-ray equipment into specified position and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors such as time and distance. * Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross-contamination. * Operates mobile X-ray equipment in Operating Room, Emergency Room, or at patient's bedside. * Assists in performing CPR. CPR certification required. * Transfers patients safely to X-ray table, wheelchairs, stretchers, etc. with use of slider board as needed for difficult or trauma patients. * Responds promptly when work is to be done, transports patients, schedules procedures, processes films to eliminate patient wait. * Completes radiographic exams in acceptable time (routine procedures six (6) minutes). * Films are of good technical quality and repeat rate is below 5. * Able to evaluate patient's condition and respond appropriately in emergency situations. * May be required to perform other assignments from time to time as requested by the Department Leader. Education: Must have successfully passed the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and have completed two (2) years of training in an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
