Georgetown College is seeking candidates for a Payroll Coordinator/HRIS Specialist. This position is responsible for processing payroll as well as onboarding new employees while adhering to the policies of the College and within legal and ethical boundaries of federal and state employment law. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Process payroll additions/changes and personnel action notices within the Paycom system to include insurance enrollments, terminations and changes.
Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for faculty, staff and Student Workers.
Maintain organized files of all payroll documents by quarter and calendar year.
Maintain knowledge of current payroll tax laws to be able to answer employee inquiries.
Research payroll issues as necessary and adjust errors.
Handle all pre-hire background checks & schedule drug screenings.
Initiate onboarding of new employees.
Schedule appointments to finalize new hire documents and assist in the completion of I-9, benefit enrollment, TIAA, and reviewing all new hire procedures.
Assist in sending out exit interviews and notifying campus offices of recent departures.
Serve as the initial contact for all student workers for eligibility and pre-hire documentation.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and / or Experience -- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Communication / Language -- Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from members of the college community and outside vendors.
Mathematical -- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
Reasoning -- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations -- None Required
Computer Literacy / General Office Equipment - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel. Word, Outlook). Experience in CARS / Jenzabar and Paycom.
