  • Uptown is currently seeking a Payroll/Benefits Analyst in the Human Resources Department for full time opportunities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
  • Responsible for supporting human resources activates. Coordinate new hire activities, including but not limited to employment and payroll verification

  • Responsible for managing recruiting efforts through hiring manager and directly managing recruiters and recruiting platforms like indeed or ziprecruiter

  • Provides information to managers, regarding day to day HR operations

  • Assists with human resources/training needs

  • Acts as a liaison between human resources department and management team

  • Responsible for processing of payroll on a bi-weekly schedule

  • Responsible for open benefits enrollment

  • Keeps track of all timekeeping records

  • Records payroll and data entry to payroll system

  • Responsible for processing of manual checks, when needed

  • Responsible for maintenance of all personnel records

  • Must be knowledgeable in company benefits, personnel, and payroll

  • Must be constantly vigilant about keeping all information completely confidential and is always in compliance with all hospital standards and state and national labor laws

  • Fulfills any duties assigned by management

This position works closely with the Director of Human Resources and Corporate Payroll office.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's (Preferred) in Human Resources, Business Administration or Healthcare Administration

  • Two (2) years experience in hospital business office or administration

  • Knowledge of payroll & benefits process, FMLA, Workers' compensation, and OSHA required

  • Good communication and people skills

  • Excellent telephone skills

  • Ability to screen incoming calls, adequately respond to telephone inquiries

  • Makes Confidentiality of the utmost importance in all duties

The ideal candidate will demonstrate some employee benefits experience; high level of professionalism; possess the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and the flexibility to easily adapt to changing priorities. * Support Consultants in providing client services for an assigned book of global employee benefits business. * Client services are defined as providing administrative, technical and research support for Lockton's Global Benefits Practice and coordinating special projects as assigned. * Support Consultants in developing and maintaining client, carrier and local broker relationships. * Partner with Lockton colleagues to conclude projects and monitor time spent and project budget. * Connect with international carriers and vendors in the cross borders space (health and welfare expatriate benefits, wellness), as well as local country brokers, to request benefits quotes, policy renewals, and track progress of client activity. * In select situations, Sr. Analyst will work directly with client and attend client meetings as required, though in most instances work will be done in tandem with assigned Consultant. * Assist Consultants in preparation of client deliverables and materials, including but not limited to periodic status reports and financial and technical summaries. * Assist Consultants in tracking project progress and timelines, maintaining client files, populating and maintaining activity/issues trackers. * Support the client team providing information on renewal activity, pooling reports, and country logs. * Support team members in addressing and resolving client issues involving escalations, administration, compliance, etc. * Coordinate web event, webcast, and conference call logistics, including producing meeting agendas and meeting minutes. * Support the development of internal and client-facing documents and reports in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc. * Perform research as needed for internal projects utilizing various internet resources, trade publications, and on occasion foreign-language sources. * Salesforce database management for client information; policy data, contacts, mailing lists, and other required data management duties. * Coordinate with other business service groups (IT, Office Services, Accounting, local offices, etc.) on various tasks using a partnership approach that facilitates high-quality results and process workflows. * Make analytical projects and conclusions/recommendations for work conducted. * Support/ lead as may be appropriate special projects, including benefit plan strategy and design, plan management and governance strategy, mergers and acquisitions and multinational pooling. * Cultivate image as a professional, trustworthy consultant internally and externally. * Assist Consultants by liaising with local Lockton Global offices and partners as requested. * Understand and adhere to set budgets by tracking time by project. Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field, or equivalent experience in the insurance industry. * Understand employee benefits / insurance at an intermediate level with the ability to learn quickly. * 2-3 years of working experience in a corporate environment preferred. * Excellent computer skills. Proficient in all Microsoft applications with a heavy emphasis on Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Prior experience with CRM tools as a plus. * Strong customer service skills with the ability to develop sound relationships with team members and external contacts. * Works well in a fast-paced environment and able to maintain deadlines. * Effective communication skills and comfort working with colleagues in a virtual and phone-based environment. * Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively. * Project management skills to include the development, population and maintenance of project tracker tools. * Ability to think intuitively, assertively and creatively. * Experience in working with cross border benefits to include well developed understanding of underwriting and pricing principles.
