SOS Security has an immediate opening for a Payroll/Accounting Specialist in our Downtown Chicago, Illinois area!
The primary responsibilities of this position are the maintenance of employment and payroll records and processing of the company payroll:
Be the main point of contact for operating managers for payroll related questions
Have an understanding of the accrual of benefits for vacation, sick and personal time based on particular CBA to include anniversary management and deployment of refreshed benefited time
Uniform deposit management
Termination payout processing of uniform vouchers and vacation accrual
Ensure termination in the Valiant system from active to inactive
Union dues management
Check processing authority
Direct deposit updates
Address and personal information updating along with corrections to information in system
Processing of payroll related PCN/EMC information for payroll
FMLA payroll management
Skills and Qualifications:
Ability to be organized and produce accurate results while meeting established deadlines,
Ability to manage multiple priorities with frequent interruption.
Ability to handle confidential matters.
Proficiency with computer-based software including Word, Excel, and Windows and the ability to learn in-house computer software.
Extensive data entry skills, spreadsheet, and word processing proficiency required.
Proficiency with desktop calculator.
Demonstrated customer services skills, ability to relate effectively and tactfully with all levels of the organization.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written communications.
Ability to work individually and as a team member.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up payroll account codes
Process weekly payrolls for multiple divisions and submit electronically utilizing 3rd party payroll system
Process tax forms
Respond to employee inquiries and resolve pay discrepancies.
Review, validate and process payroll adjustments.
Responsible for maintenance of employee data including direct deposit, W-4 filling status and local taxes.
Set up garnishments and respond to interrogatories.
Generate report and analyze data in order to reconcile to time and attendance schedules.
Remit monthly and quarterly union payments.
Provide administrative and organizational support to local management.
General administrative duties.
High School diploma and a minimum of three (3) years of payroll experience utilizing a 3rd party payroll system.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization and with outside organizations/individuals, the ability to protect and maintain confidentiality, ability to execute tasks and projects independently and multi-task
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) skills
Previous experience (3 years) in payroll within security or a similar environment.
Administered Payroll for at least 500+ employees
Associate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
