Reporting to the Controller, the Payroll Technician is a key position that directs and is responsible for the day to day Payroll operations. This position ensures that all daily payroll activities within their scope are customer focused and performed in a manner consistent with achievement of the plant vision and its goals and objectives. This position is an escalation point for issues or decisions within your finance scope. You will collaborate with other support functions (Assembly, Support Ops., Materials, Human Resources, etc) to ensure they have their required payroll in a timely and accurate fashion.
JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Accountable for Payroll activities and the execution of activities defined in that process while championing continuous improvement.
Consistently ensures that area job responsibilities are timely and accurately carried out and nurtures a high level of teamwork and performance
Assists in determining Payroll requirements, SOX compliance, and daily, weekly, and annual financial needs.
Ensure strict adherence to all Whirlpool manufacturing standards and methods
Assist with other related projects as appropriate.
Education: Associates Degree in Accounting required; Completed or actively working toward a Bachelor's in Accounting preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite/Google with intermediate to Advanced Excel/Google sheets skills.
Basic analytical/problem-solving skills(i.e., recognize patterns in data)
Good active listening and communication skills.
Able to demonstrate attention to detail, superb organizational, prioritization and follow up skills.
Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Basic project management and research skills.
