The Payroll Lead is responsible for the following:

  • Interprets day to day business objectives and prepares executes operational practices work programs

  • Ensures proper execution of processes by team

  • Reviews all incoming work for clarity, provides clear work directions, e.g., receives requests for assistance from the field, determines level of assistance required and responds appropriately

  • May perform data entry or other client related tasks in various systems, as required

  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of processes and related systems to effectively perform responsibilities

  • May make decisions about the day to day operation of the group, including management of work assignments and information between shifts as well as approach regarding workload, equipment, staffing, and scheduling. Includes adjusting work hours as necessary to meet deadlines, e.g., overtime, evening and weekend hours

  • Manages workloads to ensure even distribution of responsibilities and provide development opportunities, when available, with assistance from supervisor or workforce planner

  • May perform and or ensure completion of quality review check on outgoing work e.g., proof data entry, correspondence, and other tasks within immediate team to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency Identifies and assists with development of support materials for team use, e.g., training manuals, role aids, and views in databases

  • Prepares and analyzes complex reports information and formulates conclusions

Through this important work, the Logistics Team Lead impacts customer satisfaction, store profitability, and Academy's Mission. Job Description: Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Work Experiences: * At least two (2) years of relevant work experience required * In-direct support of people and processes to drive operational excellence and expected sales targets. Other Requirements: * Must meet federal and state requirements for selling and processing firearms transactions. * Must meet requirements to qualify to obtain/maintain FOID card (Illinois only). Skills: * Excellent customer service orientation; an effective problem solver and communicator with customers and team members * Read, interpret and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, plan-o-grams and procedure manuals * Prepare routine reports and correspondence * Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form * Working knowledge of inventory software, order processing systems, Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel Responsibilities: * Acts as lead and provides guidance when needed receiving team members to ensure that exceptional customer service is the priority of every interaction and for execution of operational tasks. * Assists manager with daily planning of operational tasks assigned to the store. * Oversees special or ongoing process improvement projects and initiatives. * Executes plan to ensure team members are compliant with established policies and procedures, and applicable laws. * Assists with departmental zoning by providing support, guidance and overseeing the recovery process. * Actively participates in floor walks with Store Manager, Store Director, District Manager and Regional Vice President. * Process firearm sales in compliance with federal and state law, including properly completing ATF Form 4473 and conducting background checks. * Required to complete Firearms Sales Certification Training. * Required to learn and follow company policies, procedures and safety rules. * Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior. * Duties may change and team members may be required to perform other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements & Attendance * Embraces flexible working schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as needed. * Constantly stand, walk, reach, handle, use repetitive motions (hand/wrist/fingers), feel and lift up to 20 pounds. * Frequently stoop, crouch, use fingers, grasp, push, pull, talk, hear and lift up to 21 to 40 pounds. * Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance and lift 41 to 60 pounds.
