This hybrid position will work out of our Home Office in Dripping Springs, TX.
Salary Range:
$75,000 - $80,000
Payroll Tax Specialist
Ensure accurate and timely payroll tax reporting and payments for a large, multi-state organization. Oversee payroll processing, tax compliance, tax reporting, and W-2 corrections. Serve as the organization's subject matter expert on payroll tax compliance. Develop and maintain audits supporting payroll.
Responsibilities
Prepare consolidated financial statements by analyzing data from the general ledger and departments
Maintain and balance automated consolidation systems, ensuring data accuracy
Analyze information and develop reports, including schedules for audits
Reconcile general ledger accounts and assist in preparing annual reports for states
Develop and implement accounting procedures, focusing on continuous improvement
Research and interpret financial data to respond to inquiries
Collaborate across departments to solve issues impacting organizational goals
Provide phone support and handle payroll tax tasks, including compliance and reporting
Manage vendor relations for tax notices and oversee quarter/year-end processing
Coordinate year-end processes, including W-2 distribution
Process backup garnishments and provide support for off-cycle check processing
Provide team support and perform additional duties as needed
Experience and Qualifications
Minimum of 5+ years in payroll processing
Experience with multi-state payroll for large companies
Experience with timekeeping and payroll software/systems
Knowledge and experience with multi-state/local payroll tax law
Skills
Microsoft Excel: Intermediate proficiency
