This position is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the payroll system for the multiple Operating Companies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports and maintains system and data integrity - managing/updating control tables, implementing new business rules, and managing security.

  • Apply documented rules, past practices, or instructions on an independent level.

  • Assists to establish and maintain system policies and procedures

  • Effectively identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to resolve.

  • Respond to standard and semi-complex payroll related inquiries from customers or employees.

  • Assist in the review of current payroll processes to identify areas of process improvements and standardization.

  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of various payroll reports and record audits to customers and management.

  • Assists with year-end and all other associated processes.

  • Provide high level of customer support and ensure positive customer interactions.

  • Work in a team environment coordinating with other team members in the processing of payroll.

  • Maintain compliance with all payroll related regulatory and internal requirements including effective internal controls.

  • Performs other related duties consistent with the role and function of the classification.

  • Complete self-initiated training necessary to remain current on payroll practices relevant to the companies supported.

  • Maintaining confidentiality and exercising extreme discretion.

Job Requirements

Required Education, Experience and Knowledge/Skills

  • High School diploma required; Associates degree preferred.

  • Certified Payroll Professional certification is a plus.

  • Minimum 5 years of payroll experience serving multiple business units required; prior multi-state experience preferred.

  • Experience in investigating and resolving standard and some complex customer payroll issues.

  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience with ADP Work Force Now is required; Prior experience with Oracle or ERP systems highly preferred.

  • Proven proficiency in understanding payroll regulations, laws and processes

  • Minimum of 2 years prior experience with payroll system maintenance as well as thorough knowledge of payroll process and principles.

  • Solid computer, organizational, analytical, research and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

VIEW JOBS 11/9/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-07T00:00 Job Description Job Summary The Accounting Manager is responsible for supervising, motivating and developing a team of accountants in the shared service center. The individual will oversee day-to-day general ledger activities, review account reconciliations, facilitate monthly customer meetings and ensure customer service commitments are met or exceeded. In addition, this individual will drive the continuous improvement of the general ledger activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Supervise the daily general ledger activities of 5 – 7 team members * Ensure timely and accurate completion of all month-end close activities * Review account reconciliations and analysis per Altra policies and procedures * Facilitate monthly reviews with business unit customers, communicating and discussing key performance indicators (KPI's), financial information and account reconciliations * Manage the priorities and work of the general ledger/accounting staff to ensure effective operation performance standards (KPI's) and customer service levels (SLA's) are met or exceeded * Develop, implement and oversee policies to drive positive change * Ensure the integrity and timely delivery of all internal reporting * Drive continuous improvement of operational and system efficiencies Work Environment Majority of time is spent in a general office environment Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Job Requirements Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * Solid knowledge of US GAAP * Demonstrated ability to initiate and drive solutions to operational and financial issues * Proven track record of meeting commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity * Strong analytical skills * Availability to travel to multiple sites as needed * Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint Required Education and Experience * Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management role * Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance or related field * SAP ERP experience, specifically FI and CO modules a plus * Professional certification (CPA) preferred * Experience in working in a multi-site environment and diversified company(preferred) * Experience with Payroll a plus(preferred) Altra Industrial Motion is an E/O/E Not Ready to Apply?
