This position is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the payroll system for the multiple Operating Companies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supports and maintains system and data integrity - managing/updating control tables, implementing new business rules, and managing security.
Apply documented rules, past practices, or instructions on an independent level.
Assists to establish and maintain system policies and procedures
Effectively identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to resolve.
Respond to standard and semi-complex payroll related inquiries from customers or employees.
Assist in the review of current payroll processes to identify areas of process improvements and standardization.
Assist in the preparation and distribution of various payroll reports and record audits to customers and management.
Assists with year-end and all other associated processes.
Provide high level of customer support and ensure positive customer interactions.
Work in a team environment coordinating with other team members in the processing of payroll.
Maintain compliance with all payroll related regulatory and internal requirements including effective internal controls.
Performs other related duties consistent with the role and function of the classification.
Complete self-initiated training necessary to remain current on payroll practices relevant to the companies supported.
Maintaining confidentiality and exercising extreme discretion.
Required Education, Experience and Knowledge/Skills
High School diploma required; Associates degree preferred.
Certified Payroll Professional certification is a plus.
Minimum 5 years of payroll experience serving multiple business units required; prior multi-state experience preferred.
Experience in investigating and resolving standard and some complex customer payroll issues.
Minimum of 2 years recent experience with ADP Work Force Now is required; Prior experience with Oracle or ERP systems highly preferred.
Proven proficiency in understanding payroll regulations, laws and processes
Minimum of 2 years prior experience with payroll system maintenance as well as thorough knowledge of payroll process and principles.
Solid computer, organizational, analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
