About the Role:

You will be the founding member of Robinhood's Payroll & Stock function. You'll work at the intersection of Finance, HR, and Legal and partner closely with leaders across the company. Successful candidates will have strong payroll and stock admin foundations, and be energized by problem solving as you help us scale our hyper-growth business. Bonus points if you believe in making the financial system (and payroll and stock admin systems!) work for the rest of us, not just the wealthy!

As Robinhood's Payroll & Stock Lead, you will:

  • Accurately and effectively manage and execute all aspects of the semi-monthly & bi-weekly payroll processing for multi-state employee payroll (exempt & non-exempt)

  • Act as an Equity Administration expert to participants, including internal and external stakeholders, providing them with complete and accurate information

  • Lead selection and implementation of scalable payroll solution for our 200+ employee company, anticipating issues

  • Reconcile and process semi-monthly funding to FSA and HSA providers

  • Perform monthly reviews to ensure payroll and equity are compliant with established controls

  • Perform accounting/general ledger functions as it relates to payroll and compensation, i.e. balance sheet account analyses, journal entries, accruals and other month end close functions

  • Be responsible for regulatory compliance requirements including multi-state jurisdictions; work with external auditors to ensure successful audits

  • Prepare ASC 718 valuation inputs for the valuation of option grants

  • Review all Quarterly and Annual Tax filings, including W-2 forms, addressing any exceptions and errors prior to finalization

  • Lead on payroll related audits

Some things we consider critical to being a Payroll & Stock Lead:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in a quantitative field

  • CPP and/or CEP certification preferred

  • 5 years of payroll and equity experience with a public company or pre-IPO company

  • Experience with Oracle is preferred

  • Experience migrating and launching payroll systems

  • Demonstrated knowledge of multi-state and federal labor laws, pay practices and policies

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with all types of wage support and garnishment orders

VIEW JOBS 12/6/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-06T00:00 OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION: The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the correctness of the Hotel internal guests bi-weekly salaries, including the timekeeping, pay rates, and miscellaneous earnings and deductions of all internal guests. Additionally, all taxes and other deductions must be accounted for, for payments issued to appropriate authorities at the scheduled time. The nature of payroll is such that the Payroll Manager must ensure that the required tasks in his/her department are carried out without any flaw and in an efficient manner and with the highest level of confidentiality. Job Requirements EEO-1 Code: 514 RESPONSIBILITIES: * Reports to the Director of Finance * Produces the bi-weekly Payroll and ensure payment of related taxes and other deductions. * Ensure proper filing of all supporting documents, generates reports in a timely fashion. * Responsible for the appointment, training and instructions of associates in the Payroll function * Maintain all payroll data in an up to date fashion, including items that pertain to legal obligations or as required by a third party. * Collect and verify all basic information pertaining to Payroll: Timesheets, Overtime sheets, deductions or additional income. In addition ensure all new hires information are correct (including previous employer YTD earnings, direct deposit forms and other benefits form) are received prior to processing new internal guest in the payroll system. * Check the recent information of all employees (new hires, terminations, changes in status, service etc.) The appropriate Department Manager, HR Director, Managing Director and Controller must approve all items. * Input all data necessary to produce the Payroll in a timely and accurate fashion. * Ensure all monthly salaries, banking information and journals (e.g. vacation, pay-data, labor report) are completed as required. * Ensure mid-month termination salaries and final payment are completed as required. * Prepare reports concerning payroll taxes and submit to local authorities within the allotted time. * Check that overtime is properly approved and accounted for, produce report-showing variance between budgeted/scheduled overtime and actual results. Prepare overtime accrual. * Maintain all files with the utmost security for the protection of the employees. * Must be able to maintain good relationships with all departments in the hotel. * Ensures confidentiality in all matters related to Payroll activity. * Attends meetings as required by Controller and Managing Director. * Carries out other duties that may from time to time be assigned by the Controller or Managing Director. * Ensure the proper training of all departments as it pertains to the company's timekeeping system. QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: The Payroll Manager holds managerial competencies and should have at least two years experience leadership experience in Hotel/Restaurant accounting with concentration in payroll. Education: The minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required with some Hotel/College training preferred. In lieu of education, at least 2 years of experience in Payroll or Hotel/Restaurant accounting is required. Knowledge of general business systems (i.e. Lotus Notes, ADP) with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, etc is highly recommended. General Skills: The ability to handle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines for financial reporting, accompanied by a high degree of professional integrity, and be able to work safe, effectively and efficiently, is important. Technical Skills: Must have a proficient working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, or other accounting applications, to be successful in this position, as well as excellent organizational skills to maintain payroll records. Knowledge of general business systems (i.e. Lotus Notes, ADP, Word, Excel, etc.) is required. Language: Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages recommended.
