Those pillars infuse every thought process and inform every action we take The Payroll Specialist will assist in processing payroll for approximately 500 employees in multiple states as the company expands in acquisition growth.

This position will perform tasks related to the analysis, execution, and support of payroll operations and field questions from employees regarding their payroll, maintaining the utmost confidentiality in dealing with employee records and business information. Key Responsibilities • Manage the timely and accurate multi-state, biweekly process for employees, ensuring compliance with all payrolls regulatory changes as well as adhering to internal policies and procedures. • Maintain tax changes, garnishments, and payroll deductions. • Review and verify punch in-out timecards for hourly employees, overtime, and unapproved time-off requests prior to processing payroll. • Research and correct issues found during processing. • Process payments that include commissions on net collections, net productions, bonus payments and other types of compensation activities. Run net collections and net production reports directly from our management systems to calculate commissions and bonus payments.

Work closely with HR to resolve employee related pay inquiries and issues. Review and validate data flow reporting for accuracy from HR system into payroll system. Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate final reports for approval.

Analyze payroll data and clearly explain payroll variances between previous and current payroll runs. Assist with implementation of company-wide payroll initiatives. Assist with preparing audit requests.

Ensure all company, federal, state, local, and other applicable compliance requirements are met. Audit payroll to maintain integrity and accuracy. Run biweekly payroll reports, prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis as needed.

Assist with tax and regulatory inquiries regarding payroll. Communicate key changes and payroll status to Payroll. Skills Knowledge and Expertise 5 years in a Payroll specific role Experience with payroll applications and service providers desirable (ADP Workforce Now preferred). Experience working for a multi-state and multi-site firm.

Experience working with traveling employees whose payroll cost must be charged to multiple sites. • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, Vlookups, etc.). Must have outstanding work ethic, willing to roll-up sleeves work attitude. Be able to collaborate and work cohesively within a team as well as work independently. Be able to adapt effectively as business needs change.

Must have excellent attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of accuracy. Excellent customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong analytical, time management and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work quickly and accurately, under deadline pressure. Ability to work in fast-growing environment. Ability to quickly own the whole payroll process on their own.
