Payroll Specialist

Our client is looking for a qualified Payroll Specialist who has experience in Canadian payroll processing. Responsibilities will include:
Canadian staff payroll including timesheets and payroll processing
Handle tax account registrations with state and local tax jurisdictions
Research and resolve all tax notices from federal, state and local agencies
Reconcile monthly, quarterly and annual taxes, amendments and W2-corrections
Complete multiple worksite reporting and respond to various state employment surveys i.e. BLS, OEWS
Ensure personnel updates and payroll tax changes are completed timely and accurately in all systems
Responsible for accurate and timely tax reporting to federal, state and local agencies
Respond to employee questions and requests in a courteous and timely manner by both phone calls and emails
Perform and assist with other tasks and duties as assigned
Requirements
Knowledge of payroll regulations and best practices, taxes and reporting requirements for US and Canada
Associates or bachelor's degree and/or related payroll or tax certification preferred
5+ years of Payroll experience in a multi-state environment
5+ years of Payroll tax experience required
Proficient computer skills with database payroll systems
