  • Reconciling payroll related general ledger accounts and W-2 forms

  • Reconciling federal, FICA, state, local and unemployment tax payments

  • Preparing payments of periodic workers? compensation payroll taxes

  • Preparing journal entries and monthly payroll accruals

Ability to run reports and queries. * Analytical skills sufficient to audit, identify and correct data errors. * Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to customers over the phone or through written correspondence and effectively communicate information with tact and diplomacy in a timely manner. * Ability to recognize problems, identify causes, research solutions and choose/recommend the most effective action/solution. * Ability to perform basic math and statistical calculations * Ability to work independently by handling, prioritizing and completing a variety and significant volume of payroll transactions correctly and timely. * Ability to establish and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures. * Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. * High level of accuracy and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications: * Two year degree in human resources, accounting or related field * Experience in HRIS/PeopleSoft and payroll database * Experience in payroll administration * Experience in FMLA administration * Experience in Wage and Hour laws and regulations * Basic knowledge of state policies and procedures * Experience with process and quality improvement * Experience in a unionized environment Additional Requirements Must successfully pass a background check.
