An outpatient addiction treatment community with locations across 3 states Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana serving more than 4,000 patients with a mission to save lives, instill hope and restore relationships.
Is a key member of the accounting department, processing bi-weekly, multi-state payroll and processing weekly accounts payable transactions. The Payroll Specialist is also responsible for performing all biweekly, monthly, quarterly and annual payroll processing functions, including account reconciliation and tax reporting oversight and is responsible for scanning and coding invoices, processing payments and managing timely payment of company expenses.

•Associate’s Degree with Business, Accounting or Finance concentration required. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance preferred.
•Minimum 3-5 years’ progressive experience in Payroll and Accounts Payable processing positions in a multi-state company setting.
•Proficient in all aspects of multi-state payroll processing, payroll withholding management and payroll tax reporting compliance.
•Proficient in all aspects of accounts payable processing, including coding invoice coding and expense allocations.

Responsibilities * Manages workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely * Reconciles payroll prior to transmission and validates confirmed reports * Understands proper taxation of employer paid benefits * Processes correct garnishment calculations and compliance * Executes time and attendance processing and interfaces with payroll * Processes manual checks * Sets up direct deposits for processing * Processes federal and state W-4 changes * Helps with the printing and distribution of checks * Completes incoming verifications of employment * Completes labor statistics reporting * Assists in reconciling tax reporting * Helps with printing and distribution of W-2s * Assists with quarterly and year-end payroll tax reconciliations * Scans and files payroll documents * Researches and answers questions, as needed * Pulls information, documents and files for subpoenas * Fields internal and external audit requests * Completes year-end document retention * Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications * High School Diploma required; some college coursework a plus * A minimum of 3 years payroll experience * Payroll tax knowledge a plus * Lawson payroll experience a plus * Strong skills in MS Office, Word and Excel * Pro-active individual, who enjoys a fast-paced environment * Strong organization skills and attention to detail * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus * Ability to work independently * Desire to engage in projects * Ability to adapt to change easily * Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time Options Kirklands Brentwood TN
