PE is searching for a dynamic Payroll Specialist to join our team!

SUMMARY

The Payroll Specialist is a member of the shared service team that processes payroll and for PEs partnered centers in a defined market segment.

This position requires a high degree of organization, prioritization, professional communications and attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)

Responsible for day-to-day implementation of payroll and benefits administration.

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for assigned centers.

  • Audits quarterly and annual tax data.

  • Ensure accurate information is keyed and maintained in the payroll system.

  • Approve ADP Self-Service workflows (payroll changes, life event, address etc.)

  • Reviews and audits payroll reports (pay-by-pay, 401k etc.)

  • Educate and train center leadership on use of ADP Timekeeping system and other new system enhancements.

  • Act as consultant for our Center leadership with payroll and tax related questions.

  • Work closely with the Payroll Manager to maintain the payroll system, participate in and execute payroll. projects, system setup tasks and troubleshooting payroll related issues across assigned centers.

  • Enter and maintain garnishment/wage orders.

  • Processing adjustments and amendments through HRIS system and audit for tax and YTD accuracy

  • Assist Benefits Coordinator with auditing payroll related data for ACA reporting

  • Responds to DOL and BLS reporting requests

  • Responds to unemployment questionnaires and employment verification requests in a timely manner for assigned centers.

  • Follows policies and rules regarding pay and benefits to ensure compliance and consistency in leave situations.

  • Ensures assigned centers are complaint with local, state and federal employment laws in relation to areas of payroll, compensation, leave/FMLA and benefit plans.

  • Enter Third Party Sick pay and ensure accuracy.

  • Assist in Implementing new centers/practices

Miscellaneous:

  • Performs payroll and benefit related tasks and responsibilities in a timely manner and as listed on the Payroll Annual Checklist.

  • Follows internal established processes and procedures and suggests improvements to payroll processes when needed.

  • Supports centers with general questions related to payroll and benefits including workers compensation audits.

  • Provides backup support to other Payroll team members.

  • Maintains payroll system records and compiles reports utilizing HRIS.

  • Maintains employee personnel and payroll files (PE).

  • Proactively plans and makes suggestions on departmental efficiencies.

  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.

  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

NECESSARY SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong computer skills including payroll, time & attendance and spreadsheet management (Excel)

  • Ability to analyze data and run reports within HRIS

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and manage, plan, prioritize work with a high-level of attention to detail

  • Must be a team player and be willing to assist other team members when needed

  • Payroll related certification preferred (i.e. PHR/SPHR, CEBS, CPP)

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND and/or EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will have the following experience or knowledge in the following areas:

  • Bachelors degree and a minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience.

  • Prior experience administering benefits is preferred

  • Expert user level of ADP payroll systems (Workforce Now), with a minimum of 2 years payroll processing experience.
