Your purpose: 

We are looking for a knowledgeable Part-Time Payroll Specialist to process and manage the bi-weekly payroll, and process all payroll journal entries in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. You will be able to use our payroll software with accuracy and efficiency for 20-25 hours per week. 

This role will report directly to the People Manager. 

To nail your job you will: 

  • Responsible for upholding company Mission, Vision and Values 
  • Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salary changes, benefit updates, garnishments, taxes, and other earnings/deductions in partnership with TriNet (PEO) and Naked Wines People Team
  • Help oversee timesheet approvals from managers
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and other earnings/deductions
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll entries and transactions
  • Complete the applicable journal entries and accruals (e.g. bonus, PTO, etc.) following payroll processing
  • Help address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and managers
  • Prepare any requested payroll reports for management on an as-needed basis
  • Other tasks, duties, or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • One – two years of experience preferred, but not required.
  • Proven experience as a payroll specialist
  • Must be able to work Tuesdays and Wednesdays during payroll processing weeks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office and G-Suite
  • Ability to keep sensitive employee information confidential
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
  • Superior organization and recordkeeping skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Able to work legally in the United States. (Work authorization sponsorship is not provided for this role by Naked Wines)
  • Experience in payroll and accounts payable
