Job Summary:

Delivers proactive support of payroll programs, policies, processes, and applications. Applies working knowledge and understanding of payroll principles to assist team members, managers and customers. Such activities may include the following as well as other duties as assigned.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Provides first level response support to managers, team members, employees and other customers

  • Receives inquiries and responds to requests following appropriate policies and practices; provides basic interpretation of HR policies

  • Assist in payroll processing including overtime computations, mandatory contributions, benefits deductions and payroll taxes

  • Monitors and ensures proper documentation of employee benefit payments

  • Prepares reports illustrating payroll expenditures, including such items as tax payments and benefit plan disbursements

  • Establishes standards and procedures for handling transactions and administration of payroll operations

  • Serves as liaison to employees related to pay questions and resolves pay issues

  • Reviews payroll audit reports and remedies errors

  • Inputs or maintains data relevant to processing employee data changes

  • Maintains documentation or records within appropriate HR systems

  • Determines best method(s) to resolve issues ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to organization policies and practices as well as legal regulations

  • Works cross-functionally with other departments (as required) to coordinate customer resolution

Job Level Specifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of the organization, job content, practices and procedures. Has a breadth of knowledge enabling high level of contribution to multiple tasks

  • Works on complex problems that require significant judgment and initiative

  • Work is performed under minimal guidance and assigned in the form of desired expectations. Independent judgment is used to determine best approach and creativity is expected to achieve maximum results and handle new situations

  • Exchanges information with other departments or external contacts. May coordinate own work with that of other work groups. Will likely field requests from senior management, others in the organization and external contacts

  • Actions have appreciable impact to own department as well as others. Errors may be difficult to detect and remedy and will likely result in loss of customer business, materials, money and/or time

Work Experience:

  • Typically 5+ years

Education and Certification(s):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Distinguishing Characteristics:

  • CPP or equivalent experience

  • ADP systems

  • Time and attendance systems

  • Acquisitions

  • System implementations

VIEW JOBS 11/29/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-27T00:00 SUMMARY Responsible for all functions of Payroll Processing including preparing, processing and distributing payroll. Some accounting functions such as journal entry and payables also required. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES * Review and audit clock in/out reports to detect payroll discrepancies. * Process new hire paperwork and enter employee information into the payroll system. Follow up on missing items to ensure compliance. * Maintain I9 filing system including compliance with E-verify. * Compute wages, deductions and other compensation. * Review and enter garnishments and other liens on employee wages. * Process and distribute employee paychecks. * Issue and record adjustments to pay related to adjustments or retroactive increases/deductions. * Record payroll liabilities into general ledger for each entity including reconciliation of ISolved to store trackers. * Provide applicable reporting to responsible parties as needed. * Reconcile benefits deductions to carrier bills to ensure accurate deductions and billings. * Audit employee files as needed. * Provide Accounts Payable duties as needed. * Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS * Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent. * Knowledge of federal and state payroll and record-keeping laws. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Strong interpersonal skills including the capability to remain neutral while providing empathetic listening. * Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations. This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Bachelor's Degree and three to five years of payroll processing experience. * Ability to multi-task and handle multiple deadlines. * Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public. * WORK CONDITIONS: * General office atmosphere and environment and open work environment with loud and vibrant music.
