Job Summary Statement:
Overall responsibility for processing and maintaining bi-weekly payroll, and HRIS system support
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Processes bi-weekly multi-state payroll for 1000+ employees (Hourly & Salaried) in a timely and accurate manner
Ensures Time entry records are accurate, approved, and complete on a weekly basis
Communicates with supervisors and employees regarding weekly missed punches, pay discrepancies, and issues regarding labor allocation
Prepares and maintains all payroll processing documents and payroll reports according to established protocol
Responds to payroll inquiries and complaints to ensure quick and courteous resolution
Prepares bi-weekly payroll batches for Expense Reports Employee Sales and UKG Wallet
Maintains timekeeping records and balances for time off including vacation, sick leave, Short Term Disability
Ensures accuracy of payroll records and pay for new hires, changes, transfers, terminated employees and other transactions, including compliant employees' records with federal/state/local withholding and state unemployment.
Assists with the preparation of General Ledger entries and Payroll Reconciliation reports to Finance for bi-weekly payroll
Serve as the subject matter expert on all garnishments and other special payroll deductions
Conducts Payroll/HRIS orientation for new employees and new supervisors
Oversees the maintenance of company timeclocks.
Prepare a variety of payroll related documentation that requests wage information (e.g. court orders, wage verifications)
Assists in providing supporting payroll documentation for internal/external auditors
Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information; prepares manual checks and retroactive adjustments as necessary
Assists Benefits department when issues arise involving Benefit calculations and deductions
Responds to employees, administrators, and management in questions regarding payroll
Resolves any payroll error processing messages in HRIS
Process China Payroll
Researches and resolves unreconciled payroll banking items
Provide support for implementations
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
Education: Associate's degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Five (5) years payroll, timekeeping, or HR experience and/or training
Multi-state payroll processing experience
Working knowledge of federal rules and regulations pertaining to FLSA and other state pay regulations.
Experience with new system implementations and integrations
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Math Skills: Intermediate Skills. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as deductions, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages
Physical Demands: Office and warehouse environment; able to move around the plant/manufacturing environment
Computer Skills: HRIS/timekeeping, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word
Must be detail oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Needs strong organizational and independent decision-making skills
Good public speaking skills
Ability to always maintain confidentiality and be able to deal with sensitive issues. Ability to adapt to changing work priorities and must be resourceful in resolving problems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in Business/Finance preferred.
UKG Pro HRIS experience.
Spanish language skills: Fully bi-lingual in Spanish, able to read, speak and write.
