Summary: Array has an exciting opportunity as we expand our Payroll team to support our increased employee base of 300 across the US. This position will be based in Boulder, CO. The Payroll Specialist will provide critical payroll support and back up the Payroll Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct payroll and timesheet orientation to individual or small groups of employees.

  • Audit timesheets using time and attendance system to ensure accuracy of hours reported.

  • Will analyze, prepare and input payroll data.

  • Audit changed information prior to processing payroll to ensure accuracy.

  • Audit any benefit deduction changes; compensation changes and other types of adjustments.

  • Prepare the semi-monthly multi-state payroll utilizing Ultimate Software HRIS System, and process as needed

  • Assist with all reporting including but not limited to monthly, quarterly annual and ad-hoc reporting.

  • Assist employees with payroll questions and related issues; maintain a high level of confidentiality and customer service at all times.

  • Compile and review data for accuracy for workers' compensation, 401(k) and financial audits.

  • Ensure payroll disputes are resolved accurately in a timely manner.

  • Proactively seek ways to enhance efficiency and accuracy of multi-state payroll processes.

  • Comply with federal, state, and local employment law and tax legislation.

  • Prepare tax registrations and complete the required set-up of jurisdiction in HRIS system

  • Monitor and reconcile state and local tax filings and payments

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business, related field required or the equivalent work experience

  • 7+ years of experience with complex full cycle multi-state payrolls, CPP highly preferred

  • Experience using Ultimate Software, or a similar system required

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, intermediate Excel skills required. Excellent data entry ability.

  • Strong knowledge of payroll methods and practices, including federal. state and local payroll tax practices and requirements

  • Ability to use analytical skills to identify, investigates, troubleshoots and reconciles issues proactively

  • Strong mathematical, organizational and detail-oriented skills

  • Strong sense of urgency and pride in maintaining high quality work without errors necessary

  • Ability to effectively multitask and adjust to changing priorities

  • Self-starter who is inquisitive and has the ability to problem solve with little direction

  • Must be able to work under pressure with strict deadlines

Position Description Zayo is seeking a Director, Global Payroll to join our dynamic and fast paced team. The Director, Global Payroll reports to the Vice President of Compensation and Benefits and is responsible for managing the accurate and efficient processing of payroll in all countries in which Zayo operates. In this role, the candidate will direct the development, implementation, and coordination of Zayo's payroll functions and maintain a world-class operating environment. This position will be the face of payroll department to corporate and division management. Responsibilities * Point-person for all strategic payroll decisions. * Manage both internal and external payroll resources across the world. * Manage system enhancements and work closely with the People Operations department to integrate data flow between HR and payroll. * Lead implementation of global payroll and timekeeping solutions. * Resolve any payroll tax discrepancies with Federal and State Agencies. * Understand and resolve challenges of managing payroll for a global company. * Manage integration of acquisitions to Zayo payroll systems, policies, and practices. * Manage a team who provide hands-on advice, guidance, and service to internal employees. The team serves as a point of consultation, coordination, and/or liaison to answer employee questions, vendor escalations, implementation, change management and solving procedural issues relating to the programs managed by the team. Qualifications * BA/BS degree preferred but not required; Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred. * Minimum of eight years as a Payroll Manager or Director. * Prior experience managing payroll for a company with multiple locations and international operations. * Prior experience supporting divisions. * Prior experience implementing systems with a global scope. * Prior experience with Workday and Salesforce required. * Knowledge and ability to manage the payroll tax function in a "full service" environment. * Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, team environment. * Hands-on experience writing reports and filtering data from payroll systems. * Complete knowledge of MS Office including Word and Excel. * Ability to support various audits and reviews, including external auditors, IRS, DOL, state agencies, and workers compensation. * Highly motivated, detail-oriented, dependable, and organized with a customer service focus. * Must have strong analytical skills and work ethic.
