PAYROLL SPECIALIST

Are you someone that is efficient at processing and managing sensitive information? Are you good with numbers and able to calculate wages based on hours worked and administer payments? As a Payroll Specialist for Victra you are responsible for processing, managing, calculating, and assisting in administrating our company's payroll. Victra is the largest retail partner for Verizon. With 1034 locations, you will handle a high-volume amount of payroll information for our 5300 employees nationswide.

YOUR FOCUS (JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):

Along with having the ability to handle several tasks amidst multiple distractions and tight deadlines, you will be trusted with sensitive information and expected to work as accurately and efficiently as possible. Having great listening and communication skills to interact with our employees and executives is important in this role. The Payroll Specialist will also:

  • Work closely with Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, Accounting and Finance teams to gather and provide information on hours worked, associated costs, etc.

  • Maintain payroll information working within ADP Work Force Now and ADP Payroll and Time & Attendance modules.

  • Assist in multi-state payroll processing using ADP WFN and ADP Time & Attendance modules.

  • Understand the processing of garnishments and execute pay orders.

  • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.

  • Balance the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies.

  • Maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures

  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions

  • Respond promptly and courteously to all payroll inquiries.

  • Process termination and off-cycle checks as required.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

YOUR BACKGROUND (SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE):

You should bring a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices. We are looking for the Payroll Specialist to have a good knowledge of legislation and relations of the field. Along with having strong written and communication skills and a general math knowledge, the Payroll Specialist background will include:

  • Associates degree in related field (preferred)
  • 2+ years' experience full cycle payroll processing
  • A high-level proficiency in MS Office
  • ADP Work Force Now experience (preferred)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
