Looking for a person to join our HR Team! Someone who likes challenges, working in a fast paced environment, has an eye for detail and is very accurate. This position is responsible for the payroll for 5 different companies and must adhere to all of the Federal/State rules and regulations. There is seldom a dull moment.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Process and pull trips through operating system; prepare settlement checks for Independent Contractors (IC's); compute gross wage for Company Drivers to be sent to HRIS system; also, compute Non-driver Employees' time worked, compensation and applicable bonuses, as well as compute and post wages and deductions, reporting gross wages to HRIS system.
Essential Functions Statement(s)
Process, review and audit daily fuel import.
Pull and release loads daily; run on hold reports to issue trips release for settlements/payment process.
Clear out electronic file cabinet to process reimbursements for all Drivers.
Process Shop invoices and update escrow accounts for IC's.
Add and maintain pay data for Company Drivers.
Add and maintain pay data for new and current IC's, including weekly standing deductions.
Run audits and pivot tables to check for accuracy of settlements.
Enter benefits, supplies, advance and other miscellaneous deductions provided by other departments into operating and HRIS systems.
Review and make corrections and/or updates to data in the time keeping system for Non-driver Employees.
Communicate with supervisors for missed punches, vacation/PTO.
Submit preprocessing report to check accuracy of pay, benefits, and wage changes before final process.
Process, audit and issue employee payroll: Company Drivers - weekly, Non-drivers - bi-weekly.
Process, audit and issue IC settlements weekly.
Perform data entry as needed.
Assist Company Drivers and Non-driver Employees with payroll questions.
Maintain Driver and Non-driver positions, personal information and compensation data within the HRIS system.
Keep informed and educate the Human Resources (HR) Team about changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to the payroll process.
Cross train with all positions of the HR Team; backup as needed.
Comply with creditors, child support enforcement, and government levies in the required time allowance and enter into HRIS system accordingly.
Save necessary reports and audits on shared drive for backup and support in monthly/yearly folders.
Perform other duties as required and assigned.
Consistently report to work as required and complete normal work hours.
Comply with company policies and procedures.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED); Associates Degree preferred, but not required
Experience: A minimum of three years payroll experience or a related field
Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
