We are seeking a Payroll Processing Coordinator, Confidential to:

  • Work independently with the UW Health Information Services team and API (payroll time and attendance system vendor) with all aspects of new system installation, ongoing maintenance, and various upgrades.

  • Serve as a first line contact for expert advice for staff resolving complex payroll issues.

Education:

Minimum

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience.

Work Experience:

Minimum

  • Five (5) years of experience performing lead payroll related work.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team to address and resolve highly complex system-related issues.

  • In-depth knowledge of Time and Attendance system complexities and typical challenges.

  • Broad knowledge and experience in the many functional areas within payroll.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • PC/Windows proficiency with emphasis in the Microsoft Office package (Excel, Word, etc.)

  • Knowledge of payroll reporting activities.

  • Knowledge and ability to use payroll processing software, HRIS management software. Experience with Peoplesoft or Oracle is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply basic accounting principles.

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.

Work Schedule:

Monday Friday, 8:00 am

  • 5:00 pm. Additional hours may be required to meet operational needs.
