Overview
Under general direction of the VP of Finance, the Payroll Manager ensures the efficient and effective operations of the organization's payroll function for the UBS Arena location which includes exempt, non-exempt, and union employees.
Compliance with all regulatory agencies and adherence to OVG's accounting and Human Resources policies is critical. The Payroll Manager will provide support and maintain a high level of customer service to all employees of the company.
Pay Range: $90,000 to $100,000
For FT roles: Benefits: Health, Dental and Vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan, 401(k) matching, and paid time off (vacation days, sick days, and 12 holidays).

UBS Arena at Belmont Park is made for music and built for hockey. New York's newest premier entertainment and sports venue and home of the New York Islanders is developed in partnership with Oak View Group, the New York Islanders, and Jeff Wilpon.

Responsibilities
Ensure accurate processing and recording of all company payroll including union and non union payrolls
Manage and oversee all payroll processing activities, including calculating and processing employee wages, salaries, bonuses, and deductions
Work closely with union representatives to ensure accurate and timely processing of union -related payroll activities
Resolves employee concerns in a timely manner by thoroughly researching and investigating the issue(s) and reporting back the findings to the employee or escalating to the VP Finance for resolution
Create and audit reports required by local Collective Bargaining Agreements
Monitor changes and remains current on legal, regulatory, or governmental requirements (e.g., wage and hour, garnishments, tax matters, 401K and other benefit deductions)
Validates and prepares off-cycle manual check requests to ensure that all employees receive any additional funds owed
Assist with uploading of files for new hires and employee changes using ADP EV5 Payroll Systems
Process employee direct deposits and tax withholding changes
Maintains the accuracy and integrity of the payroll system by carefully reviewing all entries made and remaining aware of their impact on the payroll process
Maintains confidentiality regarding associates' personal information and payroll data at all times
Assist in evaluation of ADP EV5 Payroll System to determine changes necessary for better process flow
Update individual payrolls as stipulated by management, such a tax deductions or salary adjustments
Will oversee, supervise, and determine changes necessary for optimal process flow
Maintaining payroll systems implementing best practices to improve processes and enhance efficiency and accuracy
Ensuring all payroll systems comply with federal tax laws and legal requirements
Create state and federal withholding accounts on behalf of the company, as necessary, to ensure proper quarterly/ annual filings
Generate payroll reports for management and finance departments
Build partnerships and solicit feedback from internal and external business partners to define and develop successful scalable processes and practices for the company
Oversee the preparation of required reports or payments to government agencies, insurance companies, or other organizations
Act as a payroll liaison between Corporate Payroll and UBS Arena
Qualifications
Three to five years' experience in a payroll position with increasing level of oversight and responsibility
Thorough understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
Demonstrate knowledge of payroll and tax issues, basic knowledge of employment law
Experience with collective bargaining units, or union payroll
Advanced proficiency with computers in a Windows platform including Microsoft applications, accounting/payroll/HRIS systems and ADP Enterprise
Extensive experience preparing accurate spreadsheets and reports
Consistent and reliable attention to detail, accuracy and validity
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, changing environment
Must work well under pressure of deadlines
Ability to successfully interact and collaborate all team members professionally and supportively
Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to delegate tasks as required
