Telaria is looking for an experienced and driven Payroll Manager to be a key contributor in our Finance team. We hope you are ready to jump into a fast-paced environment, adapt to change and bring your self-starter skills to the table.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Process all salary change requests including calculating retroactive, final and advanced vacation payments

  • Process all payroll change requests including direct deposit, tax withholdings, 401k & 457, transit check and gym memberships

  • Process bi-monthly and monthly payroll, which includes transmitting, receiving and translating files, computing wage and overtime payments and calculating and recording payroll deductions

  • Perform semi-monthly reconciliation of payroll

  • Process all manual checks, prepare and sort all paychecks for distribution

  • Audit all electronic timesheets in ADP to ensure accuracy and completion

  • Process all wage garnishments, including communicating with the employee, setting up the garnishments in ADP and ensuring the proper execution of all garnishments

  • Handle subpoena requests for employee information

  • Process various benefit funding for each pay cycle

  • Create reports using ADP queries and ADP Reporting

  • Coordinate with international payroll providers to ensure accurate payroll data is communicated and processed timely

  • Partner with Human Resources on all matters involving employee compensation, benefits and disability payments, including 401K contributions and funding

  • Entering new hires into the payroll system, processing terminations, posting changes in compensation, tax status and miscellaneous other employee master file changes with accuracy and timeliness.

  • Resolves employee payroll-related issues.

  • Responsible for assisting payroll vendor with researching and resolving any tax agency delinquencies and discrepancies.

  • Maintain policies and procedures to support payroll tax filing process

  • Gather and analyze data as requested by management

  • Equity administration and tax calculations

  • SOX compliance and review of service organization control reports

  • Administer Concur T&E system and book necessary journal entries

  • Assist Executive Team with draft proposal of new T&E Policy and oversee compliance


  • Minimum two 7-10 years of payroll experience required; and payroll systems (ADP Workforce) highly preferred

  • Knowledge of federal and state payroll wage garnishment laws

  • Knowledge of basic payroll regulations and payroll procedures

  • Prior oversight of international payroll operations

  • Concur and/or T&E administration experience preferable, but not required

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (V-Lookup, Pivot tables) and proficient with spreadsheets, and data processing

  • Accurate, thorough and precise

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to dig into unknown issues and areas, research thoroughly and propose solutions

  • Ability to work well independently and under pressure

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A team player with the ability to work effectively in a flexible and changing environment

  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner

  • BA/BS Degree preferred

Position Summary Reporting to the Head of North America Payroll, the Manager, Payroll (US) is responsible for leading and managing a US payroll operations team dedicated to specific Brookfield companies, which include union and non-union employees, director's fees, and retirees, and benefits. The Manager will ensure compliance with Federal and State legislation as well as Fair Labor Standards Act that applies to payroll and ensuring compliance with company policies and SOC1 requirements. Partnering with the respective Brookfield companies' HR teams, the incumbent oversees the audit and processing of new hires, terminations, status changes, allocation changes, pay rate increases, retro and bonus pay, and manual checks, prepares import templates for salary increases and retro and bonus payments, oversees and approves payroll journal entries and general ledgers and oversees and approves payroll, benefits and union dues funding. The Manager, Payroll (US) is also responsible for working with the Brookfield HRIS team for Workday HRIS payroll and benefits tables and codes administration and to create Workday HRIS environment change requests and validate test results when received before they are put into production. Responsibilities * Manage Payroll Operations team for US; responsible for coordinating workflow through the department and delegating as required; coach and direct the Payroll team * Serve as US Payroll subject matter expert within the HR workgroup and in Workday HRIS * Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, payroll funding, tax filing on a pay period and on-going basis * Co-ordinate changes of custom reports, journals, new payroll codes as required within Workday HRIS * Set guidelines for payroll team, set payroll schedule, timelines/deadlines for HR and managers to provide information to payroll for processing * Conduct various payroll audits to ensure accuracy and quality control; work with auditors as required * Ensure on-going, quarterly and Year-End reporting is balanced and filed in accordance with legislation and deadlines are met * Perform semi-annual reviews * Double check and approve all payroll third party payments, payroll journals and payroll funding documents. * Approve withholding calculations for stock option plans and the input process for accurate W2 reporting.
