Port Engineer

Key Functions
Responsible for scheduling, coordination, oversight of vessel maintenance, repair and safe execution of all engineering needs.
Responsible for annual repair and maintenance of company assets
Acts as liaison with the vessel Chief Engineer/Captain on required maintenance needs
Managing other fleet assets such as Barges and Port equipment
Ensuring regulatory compliance inspections are scheduled to avoid lapse in operations
Reviews vessels reports and closes outstanding maintenance jobs, reviews/approves requisitions.
Assists in the development and modification of preventative maintenance plans for vessel equipment
Takes communications 24 hours a day, including weekends, concerning urgent vessel maintenance, repairs and engineering operations.
Organizes and manages shipyard periods
Desired Qualifications
2+ years of engine room experience aboard vessels
Proven experience troubleshooting mechanical operations related to Marine systems
Technical knowledge of vessel repair and maintenance
Knowledge of applicable U.S. Coast Guard rules and regulations
Ability to repair marine equipment on site under adverse conditions
Must be thoroughly familiar with vessel operations
Capable of making decisions and giving directions to facilitate prompt service delivery
Valid MMC preferred
Valid TWIC
