What you'll learn & achieve:

The Payroll Manager leads the team responsible for the end to end payroll process for the Americas region. Ensuring compliance with local and international payroll, tax and accounting requirements. Delivering operational excellence and ensuring compliance via robust process and effective controls. Leading and motivating the team, supporting the Payroll Director and regularly engaging with key stakeholders and the business. Driving a common sense of ownership, first class service delivery and a commitment to continuous process improvement.

  • Ensures all payrolls are processed accurately and on time. Supports and guides the team throughout the process as required and provides an escalation point if needed. Defines the annual payroll schedule and ensures that its adhered to

  • Monitors changes to payroll related legislation and oversees modifications to the payroll system to accommodate Communicates changes to the team

  • Keeps abreast of payroll related developments, trends and technical advancements to maintain best in class operational service delivery.

  • Ensures all payroll systems including interfaces, integrations, data sources and other related software are maintained and synchronized as needed. Coordinate with Global Finance and other stakeholders as needed

  • Liaise with the Internal Audit & Compliance teams to ensure payroll SOX narratives are current and complete. Ensure the team are aware of and apply key and non-key sox controls as appropriate. Support internal/external audits including pre-audit planning, walkthrough sessions and the resolution of any outstanding audit points. Ensure any change to process or system is aligned with SOX narratives.

  • Ensure monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting & payment obligations are met, according to local country legislation.

  • Liaison with HR and other stakeholders re timely, complete and accurate submission of data

  • Manage and maintain relationships with outsourced payroll service providers to ensure consistently high levels of service delivery

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders including HR & Finance and the business generally.

  • Spearhead strategic initiatives to enhance processes and develop a team which can be part of and support a global payroll function

  • Ensure controls are performed and supporting documentation retained for SOX compliance and financial/statutory audits.

  • Provide operational metrics and supporting narrative for the global leadership team

  • Work with and support global payroll peers on shared objectives and ad-hoc operational requirements

  • Create an environment where challenge, review and a culture of continuous improvement is encouraged. Supports Supervisor in agreeing priorities and defining, documenting & implementing improvements

  • Creates and maintains written procedures for all Payroll Department functions.

  • Work with key stakeholders and the business to define and agree their reporting and management information requirements. Agree content, format and frequency. Ensure the reports are delivered accordingly.

  • Develop and support the team by defining responsibilities establishing performance objectives, providing feedback and guidance and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to.

  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct. Follow all physical and digital security practices.

  • Performs other duties as required.

What makes you a great fit:

  • University degree or recognised payroll qualification plus six years of directly related experience managing multi country payroll operations.

  • Demonstrated ability to accurately maintain a Payroll software system.

  • Working knowledge of accounting practices and procedures. Sound knowledge of governmental regulations (domestic & international).

  • Experience of ADP & Ceridian Payroll & Oracle HRIS software systems preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of benefits practices and procedures.

Laredo Hospitality is growing rapidly in Chicagoland and is looking for service-focused individuals to oversee the operations of 10-12 locations. Job Summary: The Multi-Unit Manager is a tactile leader who will work directly with each location and team to build a successful operation that epitomizes Laredo Hospitality's mission of cultivating relationships through personalized service. The Manager will be directly involved in the day to day activities including scheduling, ordering, compliance and customer service. The Manager will report directly to the Territory Manager and will additionally receive direction from key business partners. Directs staff to ensure that food safety, product preparation and cleanliness standards are maintained. Responsible for inventory and money control systems, recruits staff and oversees training and development. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position. Duties and Responsibilities: Team Building: * Hire, train and lead each store's exceptional customer-focused employees; building an effective aligned staff in conjunction with Laredo Hospitality's vision and culture. * Consistently and effectively communicate company objectives through face to face communication, team meetings and daily calls to each property. * Ensures that all local and national health and food safety codes are maintained. * Performs visitations of each location on a consistent basis to ensure quality standards are being maintained and complete a checklist for each visit. * Instill and uphold the mission of cultivating relationships through personalized service. * Lead recognition and motivational efforts throughout the area for team members and guests. * Work hands-on in each property to ensure compliance of guest service, cleanliness and standards of excellence. * Provide guidance to all team members, leading by example. * Work side by side with team members to model and validate operational excellence through ongoing visitations on varying days and partial days. * Executes all schedules, minimizing overtime and ensuring proper coverage. * Bi-weekly payroll reporting. * Maintain proper inventory levels with thorough inventory and purchasing. Compliance: * Maintain all local licenses including but not limited to, State and local liquor, business and gaming licenses. * Ensuring team members have up to date food manager and basset certifications. * Ensure safety regulations are followed and company standards are met consistently. * Execution of the highest standards of all local health and safety codes as well as security policies. Budget/Reporting: * Complete all required reports in a timely manner including weekly and monthly reports and business reviews. * Responsible for attaining food budgetary goals. * Ensure operational and financial targets remaining within agreed upon budgets and timelines. Performance: * Develop and maintain a strong relationship with employees and customers. * Run a top line business through operational focus, ensuring that correct procedures are followed at all times. * Proactively identify and manage challenges to address customer concerns and issues. * Address underperformance and accountability with necessary documentation. * Analyze employee performance and provide feedback, guidance and training to impact results. * Monitor and ensure execution of local store marketing programs per company directives.
