The Payroll & Systems Technician is responsible for a diverse range of data management, analytical and computational tasks related to Payroll, HRIS, reporting, and compliance.
Monitors assigned payroll and HRIS activities for purposes of ensuring compliance with all financial, legal and internal control requirements.
Processes and reviews employee data in multiple systems.
Researches data discrepancies, documents causation and then corrects issues.
Uses ADP in multiple facets including but not limited to data entry, report writing, and provision of both scheduled and ad hoc reports.
Processes requests for changes to employee information in various systems (compensation, job title, job code, department, supervisor, etc).
Assists with FIC, SOX and payroll audits.
Assists with Payroll tax activities including investigating, verifying and correcting issues.
Assists with bonus payment processing.
Provides ongoing interface support including enhancements and troubleshooting.
Work with HRIS vendors and external partners as required to monitor/provide proof of issues, setup new departments, resolve login or access issues, process time off and vacation.
Interface with other departments as required to provide reports, answer questions and investigate financial charging inquiries.
Assists with and/or completes statutory reports including AAP, EEO, Vets and Worker's Compensation.
Assists auditors by providing supporting documentation and/or information required for audit.
Responds and resolves employee inquiries regarding payroll or HRIS procedures to provide the necessary, responsive support.
Distributes payroll and other documents.
Serves as back-up to the Payroll Administrator and HRIS Administrator as required.
Other duties as assigned or required to ensure the work team delivers to key projects, strategies, and a great employee experience. Required Knowledge
Excellent ADP and Excel understanding with Success Factors, eTime and Google an asset.
Understanding of basic policies, regulations, and laws related to payroll, confidentiality and secure management of employee data.
Math including completing calculations and using formulas involving fractions, percents, and ratios for large, complex data sets.
Ability to gather, compile and analyze data from various sources and execute to multiple priorities.
Flexibility to adapt to evolving business context and requirements.
Work in various systems and understand the related interface(s)/interdependencies.
Effectively working, communicating and collaborating both internal and external to the work team.

Education & Experience
Technical Diploma in Accounting, HRIS, payroll or related field or equivalent, demonstrated experience.
At least 3 Years of applied experience
