CA Mentor is seeking a Payroll Coordinator, Field to review, enter, and maintain payroll activities in the assigned state or region. This position will process employee action forms (EAF's), audit timecards and attendance logs, reconcile paid time off accruals, Kronos support, and coding for all payroll related expenses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Calculates time worked and codes timesheets/cards by department. Enters and approves weekly hours into Kronos for hourly employees. Serves as timekeeper for the state office.

  • Performs monthly audits of timecards, salaried time, and attendance records. Assists in necessary corrections/adjustments for variances.

  • Reconciles the paid time off accrual for all variances against capped accruals for the year, including necessary reclassifications of negative time between categories of paid time off as applicable.

  • Reviews the monthly distribution of all payroll cycles to ensure that all staff are appropriately charged to the proper alias and general ledger codes.

  • Communicates with regional office staff regarding changes made to any documentation submitted.

  • Completes the authorized distribution of various forms and materials (i.e. payroll registers) to the state director and regional offices. Monitors for required follow-up.

  • Ensure Sarbanes Oxley compliance with all assigned areas and other audit requirements.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Post secondary two or four-year college degree in Accounting preferred

  • Two to four years experience in payroll, accounting or a related field

Other Skills and Abilities Desired:

  • Knowledge of Oracle financials or other ERP system

  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the field

  • Excellent computer skills, data entry speed and accuracy, and related office equipment

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Solid accounting knowledge

  • Excellent organizational skills and record keeping

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
