The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for processing payroll and other related data for payroll on a weekly and biweekly basis. This position will work closely with Human Resources as it relates to all payroll analysis and processing.

Responsibilities include:

  • Check payroll information for accuracy

  • Coordinate with HR about changes in payroll (e.g. terminations, new hires)

  • Process other financial compensations or deductions (e.g. annual bonuses, severance pay)

  • Assist employees with general payroll questions and educate as needed on company-specific payroll policies

  • All other duties as assigned


  • Proven experience as a payroll coordinator or similar role

  • Familiarity with payroll processes Minimum of at least 1-2 years of experience in Payroll (Ultipro, ADP)

  • Good knowledge of legislation relevant to accounting and payroll (such as Sarbanes-Oxley Act or FLSA)

  • Must have a working knowledge of Ultipro payroll and timekeeping systems

  • An analytical mind with good math skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook)

  • Associate's Degree

Responsibilities * Manages workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely * Reconciles payroll prior to transmission and validates confirmed reports * Understands proper taxation of employer paid benefits * Processes correct garnishment calculations and compliance * Executes time and attendance processing and interfaces with payroll * Processes manual checks * Sets up direct deposits for processing * Processes federal and state W-4 changes * Helps with the printing and distribution of checks * Completes incoming verifications of employment * Completes labor statistics reporting * Assists in reconciling tax reporting * Helps with printing and distribution of W-2s * Assists with quarterly and year-end payroll tax reconciliations * Scans and files payroll documents * Researches and answers questions, as needed * Pulls information, documents and files for subpoenas * Assists with tax review/corrections * Assists with month end reconciliations * Fields internal and external audit requests * Completes year-end document retention * Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications * High School Diploma required; some college coursework a plus * A minimum of 3 years payroll experience * A minimum of 2 years of Lawson experience * Payroll tax knowledge a plus * Strong skills in MS Office, Word and Excel * Pro-active individual, who enjoys a fast-paced environment * Strong organization skills and attention to detail * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus * Ability to work independently * Desire to engage in projects * Ability to adapt to change easily * Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time Options Kirklands Brentwood TN
