Job Description:

This role will be in charge of processing payroll, taxation forms, and benefits, as well as maintaining employee data, handling payroll questions and completing any other tasks necessary for monitoring and overseeing the payroll process.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Process biweekly/monthly payroll accurately using Ultimate Software to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.

  • Manage time, attendance and reporting in UltiPro Time Management.

  • Process adjustments, wage garnishments and exceptions to payroll.

  • Prepare manual checks as required for terminations, errors, etc.

  • Ensures compliance with internal controls and adheres to company's policies relating to the processing of wages and paid time off.

  • Provide service to Shareowners regarding concerns with payroll and taxes, research and troubleshoot any/all inquiries.

  • Register for tax identification numbers in new jurisdictions.

  • Preparation of payroll journal entries.

  • Upload 401(k) transactions to the outside vendor.

  • Generate reports from UltiPro Business Intelligence.

  • Cross-train on other NuVasive payrolls, and assist payroll team with other duties.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years payroll experience

  • Knowledge of Accounting and payroll-related journal entries

  • Strong working knowledge of FLSA, payroll practices and multi-state labor & compliance guidelines

  • Experience with report writing module, exporting/importing for monthly reporting

  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities and time sensitive deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to establish effective relationships at all levels of the organization

  • Meticulous attention to detail, self-motivated, maintains confidentiality

  • Proactive and capable of working as a member of a team, as well as independently

  • Ability to anticipate important timing needs that may impact the company's payroll

  • Understanding the importance and sensitivity of the payroll coordinator position and its confidentiality

  • Ability to understand a sense of urgency related to payroll requests and expectations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree preferred

  • Ultimate Software experience

  • Advanced computer skills in MS Excel, including Vlookup and pivot tables

This position, under general direction is responsible for developing, implementing, and/or maintaining one or more payroll related accounting system within that department. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: * Determines and implements the most effective methods for controlling and processing accounting information. Ensures proper documentation in accordance with external requirements. * Prepares timely and reliable periodic summaries of accounting records and data. * Conducts special studies and analysis and prepares required accounting data for assigned projects and/or programs. * Preforms various Payroll functions. (Processing of Payroll, pay to CO reconciliation, Tax filings, and weekly time card audits). * Analyzes and responds to accounting questions in accordance with accepted accounting principles. * Prepares Payroll Journal Vouchers. * Prepares annual W-2s. * Responsible to complete quarter-end and year-end account reconciliations. * Functions in an advisory role and provide guidance to less experienced staff. * Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information. * Performs other duties as assigned or required. Job Qualifications * Typically requires a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance or related discipline along with six or more years of progressive experience in accounting with a bachelor's degree or four or more years of experience with a master's degree. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education. * Must have payroll experience. * Must be able to meet tight deadlines. * Experience with SAP is strongly preferred. * Must possess leadership skills including organizing, scheduling, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates. * Must be customer focused and possess: (1) the ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop solutions to a variety of complex problems; (2) excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings; (3) excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees, including management; (4) the ability to represent the company as a knowledgeable resource on external projects; and (5) excellent computer skills.
