As a Coordinator you will assume responsibility for the computation of payroll hours, completion of payroll sheets and forwarding same to Payroll Department to meet bi-weekly payroll deadlines.
Records and updates staff payroll sheets with scheduled time, work time, benefit time paid, and compensation or disability to meet bi-weekly payroll deadlines.
Enters information into electronic payroll system.
Validates totals for all time entered for each employee, verifying all hours worked and benefit time requested.
Tracks and processes employee pay orders and vacation advance requests slips submitted. Completes proper forms for advance vacation checks.
Sorts and distributes paychecks on payday.
Investigates and resolves issues to be added to pay period or pay orders regarding pay hours, benefits, etc.
Maintains log for staff sick days paid for family members. Generates reports from payroll ledgers to be distributed to management.
Makes recommendations to improve efficiency of payroll processing procedures (i.e. drafting new forms, updating existing forms, procedures, etc.),
Answers telephones, refers or handles calls appropriately.
Develops appropriate retention system for overtime records, sign-in sheets, time change requests, and all other payroll records.
Maintains strict confidentiality in all payroll and Hospital matters.
Utilizes knowledge of related union contracts and Personnel Policy and Procedure Manuals in the performance of duties.
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Minimum of six (6) months payroll processing experience, required. Hospital payroll processing experience, preferred.
Ability to perform simple and complex mathematical computations.
Ability to read, comprehend and interpret detailed and fairly complex written materials.
