Job Summary

Under limited supervision, responsibilities for this position will be split between the payroll and compensation functions. Responsible for administering bi-weekly payroll through the company's HRIS System, validating benefits vendor files and data feeds that flow through to payroll. Manage unemployment documentation, garnishments, and one-time payments. Assists with market pricing jobs, auditing job descriptions, and support Manager with compensation tasks.

Work involves performing difficult and complex services requiring a high level of independent judgment, initiative, and discretion. Work is mainly self-directed, with work results reviewed through the achievement of set goals and adherence to policies and procedures.

Key Accountabilities

  • On a bi-weekly basis prepare and validate payroll runs with an emphasis on accuracy, details and timeliness

  • Investigate employee questions and inquiries about payroll, taxes, and deduction related items

  • Administer garnishments and voluntary court deductions; including ensuring payments are made timely to the appropriate agency

  • Prepare, run and upload bi-weekly, monthly and quarterly accounting documents and notify partners when they are ready for review.

  • Ensure that automatic and manual payroll items are properly received from and sent to benefit vendors (i.e. 401K, medical, HSA/FSA, etc)

  • Track and administer the tuition reimbursement and relocation programs

  • Ability to perform basic accounting functions (reconciliations, journal entries, forecasting, etc.)

  • Administer year-end bonus payments, one-time payments, and off-cycle checks

  • Responsible for biweekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reporting

  • Special projects or other duties as assigned

  • Assist Manager with market pricing job families, job descriptions and job taxonomies

  • Assist Manager with day-to-day operations and administration for the employees in the Company 401K plan including maintains all appropriate records, reports and files related to 401K administration

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • Associate's degree from an accredited college

  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now

  • Position requires at least 2 years of experience working in a payroll department; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred, with a concentration in business, accounting, mathematics, or economics

  • Knowledge of personnel policies, practices, procedures, and laws

  • Knowledge of basic accounting

  • Ability to efficiently handle competing priorities and tasks, remain organized and meet deadlines

  • Ability to establish and maintain confidential and effective working relationships with supervisor, coworkers, management and internal and external customers

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with a welcoming, cooperative and supportive demeanor

  • Ability to function within a matrix organization in which functional and business leaders have equal authority within the organization and employees report to both a functional leader and a business leader
