In this role, your primary responsibilities will consist of providing support to the Payroll department in a variety of duties, including data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. A Payroll Clerk position has become available on a long term temporary basis in the Memphis, Tennessee area. What you get to do every single day

  • Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system

  • Reach out to employees via phone and email to obtain timesheet approvals

  • Construct and run custom reports

  • Administer instruction/training to employees regarding the use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc.

  • Perform basic clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc

  • Distribute and administer reports as instructed

  • Make sure data entered into spreadsheets and the payroll system is accurate


  • Knowledge of payroll for over 500 employees

  • Strong familiarity with ADP Financial Services

  • HR (Human Resources) experience desired

  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • Skilled in Payroll software

  • Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills

  • 1+ years of previous payroll experience

  • Eagerness to master new systems

  • Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Creates and distributes templates and/or reports to appropriate internal departments or external vendors. Resolves data errors and discrepancies.
