Carrier Enterprise, a joint venture between Watsco, Inc. and Carrier Corporation has an opening for a Payroll Administrator. Carrier Enterprise distributes Carrier, Bryant and Payne residential and light commercial HVAC equipment products throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Puerto Rico, serving air conditioning and heating contractors.

Position Summary:

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of bi-weekly payrolls and related client service, including recordkeeping, reporting, garnishments and problem solving. Reports to the Manager of Payroll and Benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process accurate payroll and maintain confidential payroll information as required.

  • Data entry and personnel transactions such as new hire, termination, leave of absence, benefits deductions, garnishments, child support, liens, etc.

  • Multi-state and Federal Taxes, including quarter and year-end reconciliations.

  • Gross to net calculation, audit and balancing.

  • Evaluate, set-up and maintain garnishments, child support, liens, etc.

  • Research and resolve problems, perform scheduled activities and liaison with regional HR Teams in the field.

  • Prepare and maintain standard and ad hoc reports and queries using ADP and EXCEL and conduct appropriate audits to ensure data integrity.

  • Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets at an intermediate level.

  • Point of contact for time and attendance and payroll. Responsible for importing hours between the two systems.

  • Create and maintain file folders for employees, file records in alphabetical order, find and retrieve information from files in response to requests from authorized users.

Experience and Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree or higher preferred.

  • 5+ years Payroll experience

  • Strong data entry and Excel skills

  • Experience with high-volume, multi-state payroll tax required

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment

  • ADP experience essential - ADP Vantage experience ideal.

  • CPP preferred.

Aerojet Rocketdyne (AR) Coleman Aerospace is an innovative systems engineering and integration provider. Both a prime contractor and subcontractor, AR Coleman designs and produces sophisticated ballistic missiles as replicas of global missile defense threats. AR Coleman provides a variety of suborbital launch vehicles, payloads, and launch services. This opening may be filled at this level as posted or at one level higher if the successful candidate has the necessary experience to justisfy the level adjustment. Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each) Working under general supervision: 80%: * Responsible for the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll for approximately 175 employees. * Review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets on a weekly basis. * Process, review and post labor on a weekly basis. * Process, review and post leave accruals on a weekly basis. * Responsible for the coordination efforts between Payroll and Human Resources to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data (including preparation/distribution of detailed reports, e.g. leave balances and headcount). * Handle the administration of the electronic timekeeping system, monitor submissions of approved timesheets, ensure valid data transfers to/from Corporate Payroll. * Ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and adherence to company policies including compliance with federal/state/local regulations. * Prepare monthly headcount reports and other payroll-related reports. 20%: * Assist in month end closing. * Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policies and accepted accounting practices. * Assist with other projects as needed. Requirements Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business or related discipline and 3 years or related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications: * Knowledge of Costpoint is preferred. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel expected. * Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system. * Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion. Professional attitude and reliability a must. * Must be well organized, detail oriented with time management skills. * Must be able to follow standard filing procedures. * Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills. * Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. * Ability to interact with employees in a professional manner. * Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on meeting deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy. US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
