An organization in Princeton, NJ is seeking a Payroll Administrator. As a Payroll Administrator duties will include: processing a payroll for 2000 employees including multi-state, auditing timecards, completing 1099, 940, 941, and W2 forms, as well as post and reconcile payroll to the general ledger. Additional duties will include: ensuring payroll compliance with government regulations, preparing payroll accruals, remitting payroll tax, and preparing the payroll statements. Additional Responsibilities

  • Continue employee confidence in payroll operations by keeping sensitive information confidential

  • Establish payroll liabilities after calculating all employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments

  • Offer proper review and verification of source documents

  • Proper payroll information maintenance by collecting, calculating, and entering data

  • Answer questions and requests related to payroll information

  • Organize and compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages in order to draft relevant reports

  • Draft relevant year-end reports, as well as weekly, monthly, and quarterly ones, for department heads

  • Deliver assistance to payroll with internal and external audits

  • Retrieve and assess information in order to resolve payroll discrepancies

  • Perform other tasks as necessary

  • Enter changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers as part of managing payroll records

  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines

  • Reconciling of employee deductions and other liabilities

  • Understand and report necessary changes to payroll operations by maintaining established policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements

  • Reliable skills in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills

  • Certified Payroll detail oriented designation favored

  • UltiPro experience

  • Solid understanding of payroll

  • SAP experience

  • Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"

  • Accurate, swift, data entry abilities

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in payroll

  • Understanding of internal controls

  • Prior experience working with collections/accounting software

  • Knowledgeable of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
