Process bi-weekly payroll for employees using the bank?s automated payroll systems. ? Process semi-monthly commission run. ? Process non-exempt and exempt new hires and terminations, deductions, leaves of absence, vacation sick leave, garnishments, and 401(k) loans. ? Process bonus, commission payments and other wage benefits in accordance with current compensation terms. ? Assist with payroll testing activities, acceptance testing, and documenting results. ? Review and independently resolve errors caused by payroll edits. ? Respond to employee and manager inquiries for routine questions regarding payroll and related systems. ? Prepare various payroll reports. ? Partner with Human Resources Department to set up and maintain employee records and provide support on various projects as requested. ? Work with the bank?s independent and internal auditors and examiners in their quarterly and annual reviews and audits, coordinating payroll related inquiries and requests. ? Prepare journal entries and develop supporting, auditable documentation for payroll activities. ? Assist with maintaining accurate and complete payroll related files in a timely manner. ? Conduct payroll account reconciliations. ? Stay abreast of wage and hour regulations. Assist with incorporating new regulations into payroll policies, procedures and subledger systems where appropriate. ? Maintain payroll desktop procedures for responsible areas/applications to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and regulatory requirements. ? Assist with re-engineering payroll existing processes to improve efficiencies and enhance controls. ? Contribute to the efficiency of the Payroll Group by participating in cross training, sharing job responsibilities, and serving as position backup for other payable specialist. ? Perform ad hoc projects as requested.
? AA/BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience ? Experience in data collection, entry and reporting with great attention to detail and confidentiality ? Computer savvy with working knowledge of relevant software (e.g. Excel, JD Edwards, Great Plains, Famous, Kronos, ADP, etc.) ? Working knowledge of payroll functions, including current labor laws and regulations. ? Basis knowledge of accounting and general ledger. ? Hands-on, efficient, organized, team player with proven ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment and facilitate change, multitask effectively and work independently. ? High attention to detail.
