Twilio payroll department is growing rapidly and seeking an experienced Payroll Accountant and Analyst to join our Payroll team in HQ SF office. The ideal candidate is someone who participate enthusiastically, works well under deadlines, multi-tasks, and solves problems, all while delivering excellent results. The Payroll Accountant performs complex works involved in the accounting, recording and auditing and will work closely with the HR, Tax, and Stock Administration departments to help support the daily operations for the US Payroll.
Twilio is looking for an experienced Payroll Accountant, well rounded and personable experience to join the Accounting team. We seek someone with:
Strong knowledge of payroll and accounting practices and principle and employment laws relating to key areas of responsibility
Thorough knowledge of financial statements and financial analysis techniques
Ability to thrive in a fast-growing environment where change is the norm; requires strong multi-tasking skills, and the flexibility to switch from one project to the next quickly
Extreme attention to detail, hands-on approach, teamwork oriented
Strong problem-solving skills
Workday payroll experience preferred
Must maintain total confidentiality and discretion of all employee information
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookup formulas
Minimum of 5 years Payroll Accounting experience preferred
As Payroll Accountant & Analyst, you will:
Prepare all journal entries for the Bi-Weekly Payroll for 900+ US employees using Workday Payroll, including all special off-cycle payrolls.
Execute on all aspects of the GL accounting for payroll.
Perform general ledger functions for month-end /year end close process including preparing and posting journal entries
Prepare reconciliations for assigned accounts, research and analyze findings to ensure accuracy of accounts, documents and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the balances and variances.
Work with internal and external auditors to provide required information as related to payroll to completion of audits.
Seek to improve and implement procedures and systems functionality to increase efficiencies and streamlining processes
Support payroll functions:
Validate all earning, deduction and tax account set-up in Workday
Process off-cycle manual payroll checks needed
Responsible for Tax related items
Research tax notices
Set-up new states/jurisdictions
Update withholding rates in Workday
Prepare wage and tax adjustments as needed
Reconcile and balance Payroll Detail spreadsheet Quarterly
Identify and develop solutions for process efficiency and improved productivity
Assist Supervisor with Audit requests as needed
Ad hoc analyses and special projects as needed
