Accountemps has an immediate need for a Staff Accountant for a month-long project in Walnut Creek! The primary duties of this exciting opportunity will be acting as a liaison between the Payroll and Accounting groups as our client goes through a system conversion. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Ensure accurate billing and invoicing procedures are followed and are consistent with established policies Record sales in General Ledger Managing of account payable inventory discrepancies Follow up on delinquent customer accounts in conjunction with the Controller Contact delinquent customers to collect on past due amounts Process customer payments in the Accounts Receivable system Reconcile deposit receipts to bank statements in a timely manner Enter daily cash receipts and apply to Accounts Receivable Process all vendor invoices for payment and check preparation in the Accounts Payable system Prepare month end journal entries for accruals Reconciling of accounts ? bank accounts, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, accounts receivable and payable Prepare payroll time and attendance file for both weekly and bi-weekly employee groups Review time cards and ensure accurate record keeping Update payroll records for adjustments to an employee?s payroll file (tax changes, new deductions, etc.) Perform other duties assigned from time to time by management group Assist in processing form 941 and miscellaneous other payroll duties To apply, submit your resume to
Two years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting preferred. Five years or more experience highly preferred. Experience in a retail or franchise setting preferred. Knowledge of utilizing computerized accounting software. Experience in using various computer software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite required. Knowledge of regulatory requirements for processing payroll accounting transactions and payroll returns.
